Right now, I live in Chicago, but I will be moving to Beaumont, TX in August to assume a teaching position at Lamar University! It's a big step and I will miss Chicago, but I am excited to start a new chapter!
Do these effectively hide my thunder?
I'm Brian. I am an actor, teacher and fight choreographer. Yep, I teach actors to swordfight. I have a MFA in acting and I am hoping to become a full-time university professor in the near future. In recent years, I have begun to think of myself more as a teacher than an actor, but the actor part of me will always be there.
I am also a pretty huge musical theatre geek (yep, and I'm straight!).
I am a wanna-be foodie and love to cook. I am looking for someone who is just as much of a nerd as I am.
I have an unusual talent for being universally loved by cats, dogs and mothers!
My kindness is sometimes mistaken for weakness. This is unfortunate. I have had to go through many things in my life, both positive and negative, all of which have made me a stronger person. I can be tenacious in getting what I want, if I want it badly enough.
I love to travel when time and money allow. Been to London a few times as well as Vegas (always a good getaway destination) and I am getting tired of going by myself. Any takers?
I sometimes tend toward the shy side, especially when I am around new people, but once I get to know you, I am quite the chatty one. When interviewed on "Inside the Actor's Studio", Mike Myers referred to himself as a "site-specific extrovert." This sums me up perfectly. I, like Michael Scott, appreciate a good "that's what she said" joke and am a huge fan of The Office, 30 Rock and The Amazing Race, not mention just about any show on The Food Network.
I consider myself a loyal friend. I will literally give you the shirt off my back if you need it.
