My self-summary
Looking for my last first date!

I'm Brian. I am an actor, teacher and fight choreographer. Yep, I teach actors to swordfight. I have a MFA in acting and I am a full-time university professor.

Textbook INFJ="The Protector" (for those who like the Myers-Briggs!)

I am also a pretty huge musical theatre geek (yep, and I'm straight!). I am also trying to learn more about opera. After working at an opera company, I realize it's something I want to learn about more!

I am a wanna-be foodie and love to cook. And yes, I did shamelessly include some food porn in my photo section. Date me and I promise you will eat well! I have recently gotten in baking, making pastries, artisanal bread etc. and I am trying to bake my way through the King Arthur Flour Cookbook. Even have a blog about it: My dream vacation is a trip to the King Arthur baking school in Vermont for a week-long baking class! That, or a Disney Cruise!

I am looking for someone who is just as much of a nerd as I am.

I have an unusual talent for being universally loved by cats, dogs and mothers!

My kindness is sometimes mistaken for weakness. This is unfortunate. I have had to go through many things in my life, both positive and negative, all of which have made me a stronger person. I can be tenacious in getting what I want, if I want it badly enough.

I sometimes tend toward the shy side, especially when I am around new people, but once I get to know you, I am quite the chatty one. When interviewed on "Inside the Actor's Studio", Mike Myers referred to himself as a "site-specific extrovert." This sums me up perfectly. I, like Michael Scott, appreciate a good "that's what she said" joke and am a huge fan of The Office, 30 Rock and The Amazing Race, not mention just about any show on The Food Network.

I consider myself a loyal friend. I will literally give you the shirt off my back if you need it.
What I’m doing with my life
Living the dream, i.e. a full time university teaching position! I also freelance as a fight director and stage combat teacher. Currently available for all your theatrical violence needs!
I’m really good at
I am a pretty good cook and baker, if I do say so myself! I have been making my own croissants and artisan bread and I love it! I like to think I am also a good teacher. My father was a teacher and I seem to have inherited that gene. In my humble opinion, I don't think there is any more noble profession! And, not to toot my own horn, have been told I am a pretty good kisser!
The first things people usually notice about me
I have been told I have nice eyes. Thoughts?

I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to improve my mind. I love to learn and am almost always reading, studying or researching something.

My past experiences. I have been through much in my life, both good and bad. All of it has contributed to being the person I am today. I believe there is no such thing as coincidence. Things happen because they are supposed to. I have no regrets.

Oh, and sometimes boobs.
On a typical Friday night I am
Well, nowadays my Fridays are pretty wide open, so any suggestions would be quite welcome!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Willing to admit? Hmm.... I would say that I am a hopeless romantic and believe that every pot has its lid!

If I know a telemarketer is calling me, I will sometimes answer the phone, "Buddy the elf! What's your favorite color?"

I never learned how to ride a bike. I know! It's totally crazy! But, despite many many efforts, I have yet to learn. Anyone able to teach me?

Celebrity crush: Audrey Hepburn

Also, I'm a cuddler!
You should message me if
You have an appreciation for the arts, especially theatre!

You can out geek/trivia/nerd me

You appreciate/like/have the wit and humor of Eddie Izzard, and look better in a dress than he does!

There is nothing more attractive than intelligence, wit and a hint of sarcasm!

You know where I can get a good pair of fighting trousers!

You could be the best friend I fall in love with! While new friends are always nice, I have a lot of friends. I really want a relationship. Don't have too many of those!

Also, I tend to browse profiles from everywhere, not just locally. Maybe it's the hopeless romantic in me, but I like to think that the right person for me may across the world and not across the street. But, that's what airplanes are for! Even though I live in TX, I am looking for work elsewhere, so I might just end up where you live!

You would like to meet someone who may not be tall dark and handsome, but I am loyal, sweet, honest and a hell of a cook! I'll even do the dishes!
