My self-summary
It doesn't take an unconventional guy to stand back and wonder why people do things like fight traffic every day, sit in a gray cubicle, and aspire to climb the career ladder to middle management. But most guys would rather just stay in the rat race than step out of their comfort zone and take a risk for their freedom.

I'm no daredevil, but I don't mind getting my hands dirty to get what I want, and I've been known to jump out of fast moving planes from time to time. I started skydiving almost 15 years ago and have done over 350 jumps since then. There's something about hurling yourself out of an aircraft miles above the Earth that never seems to get boring. It's also great for achieving that effortless, windblown look that the ladies love.

Incandescent lighting doesn't do much for my complexion – I'd much rather be outside enjoying real sunlight and fresh air, especially after untying my climbing rope at the top of a cliff. At some point, I'd like to learn to surf. I make frequent trips to Denver and LA, and I already have a snowboarding hobby for Denver – time for an LA one. Plus I hear women like a man in a suit... wetsuits count, right?
What I’m doing with my life
I love to fly! Here's a video of a wingsuit formation that I participated in recently: http://youtu.be/UtVH_AlYXTQ

I have more frequent flyer miles than I can possibly use, so I'm planning to eventually take some time off and travel around the world.

Otherwise, I run a technology company. I built it from nothing, with nothing, and it's been a fun ride!
I’m really good at
Operating a nail gun without injuring myself. I did much of the renovation work on my house myself; you wouldn't know looking at it now that it was once a fixer-upper (well, from the inside anyway... still working on the outside). I had no clue what I was doing when I started, but I like to figure things out as I go.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a pretty laid-back, level-headed guy. My friends tell me that I come across as very calm, and certainly not the type of person you'd expect to be jumping out of airplanes.

I look much younger than I am. People assume that I'm in my mid-20s, and sometimes don't even believe me when I tell them I'm older than that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I enjoy a variety of music, but probably lean towards rock. The Beatles, The Doors, Rolling Stones, and Smashing Pumpkins, White Stripes.

In movies, I'm pretty easy to please as long as you don't put me in front of a sappy chick flick or a horror movie. I don't spend much time in front of the TV. I'd much rather kick back with a book; they last longer and you can pause whenever you want. I tend to read more non-fiction than fiction.

My culinary abilities extend to ordering off of a menu. I'm a seasoned pro. Some of my favorites are Indian, vegetarian sushi, and vegan ice cream made with coconut milk.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next big adventure. I tend to evaluate vacation spots based on the quality of their drop zones. California's a big draw (especially when I've had enough of the Canadian winter). It's got everything an outdoor enthusiast could ask for – mountains, the beach, cliffs to climb, and a couple of the best drop zones for skydiving in the country.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You're an active, honest girl who enjoys looking at life from all angles instead of taking one at face value. I'm pretty happy with my life, but I have room for someone with a sense of adventure and an open mind to match my own, who's not allergic to fresh air.

If your idea of fun is getting smashed and shouting in a crowded club, we probably aren't the best match. I'm looking for something meaningful... so if you think you are AT LEAST "divorce material" by the time you read this, then send me a message and let's talk. What's the worst that could happen? Worst case I imagine, we can be friends and laugh so hard it hurts...
