I'm one of those people who's still utterly shocked that being a nerd doesn't necessarily make one a social inept anymore.

That's right gentle reader, in addition to spending large amounts of time slaving behind a keyboard, I also enjoy going out with friends, staying in with friends, or shock horror; hitting the occasional bar!

Anyway, I first came here ages ago because people kept linking me to it from Livejournal. I created an account and then promptly ignored it for quite some time. So I thought I'd come back and see if I could at least make use of the time I'd spent creating a profile....

Working in Automotive IT. It's hardly glamorous, but it pays the bills. I'm currently fighting the man on his own home turf (I hate the corporate world, and want to either change it for the better or quit when I finally get sick of it. I imagine the latter is more likely...)

My current circle of friends is an assortment of different minority groups. It's a bizarre melting pot of geeks, goths, gamers, hippies, pagans, GLBT, poly, and other strangely complimenting flavours. I like it. :o)

Currently in a polyamourous relationship with persephone_20, who is a gorgeous fun loving girl who makes my life awesomer.

What I'm really doing at the moment is learning and growing. I have come to understand that while resting on my laurels has been fun. I can do more, help more, and serve more by getting away from where I am most comfortable. So I guess what I'm doing is trying to acquire wisdom and experience, mostly the hard way. All in order that I may enrich my life, and the lives of those around me. It is by far the most fulfilling thing I've ever done.

I'm a tech head. I love my little knick knacks. I can become thoroughly engrosed on those crappy little games you get on your mobile phone.

I'm also becoming quite adept at fixing my own car. Buying a tool box was possibly a very dangerous idea for me...

Recently, talking to people. I'm really enjoying talking to people I wouldn't normally interact with. It's awesome when you find common ground with someone you didn't know from a bar of soap earlier.

Dimples. The long running war about whether my eyes are blue or green. Pint stripes.

That's a lot to notice. Apparently people are attentive.

On books, the Newsflesh trilogy by Mira Grant is my out and out favourite right now. I'd be such a Stewart in that world! Other favourites are Dan Abnett and David Gemell.

I like lots of movies, but the specific favourites are Pirates of the Carribean, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Saving Private Ryan, The Hunt for Red October, Fight Club, the list goes on.

Series are Game of Thrones, Castle, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Babylon 5, Futurama, Mythbusters, Top Gear, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report...

Politics, religion, the future of the human race. I have some very strong opinions about the world and many of the things that are wrong with it.

I like to think about people, and the philosophies that seem to govern our lives. Both our own, and those that are "applied" to us.

On a brighter note. I also love to talk about things not listed above. Not a huge sports fan (I tend to enjoy playing more than watching most of the time). But I do enjoy a good natter about something I read on the web, or whatever oddball bit of trivia I've picked up in the last week.

Playing board games, or dressed to the nines and dancing my ass off. Supposedly there's a middle ground in there somewhere.

I am the walrus.... I know it's hard to believe, but it's true.
