My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a lot of things that don't seem to generally end up packaged together and I have no idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Unfortunately they don't put "1930's pugilist" under body type. I'd say that describes me rather well in stature as well as demeanor. I'm pretty cynical, but I strive to balance it with empathy. I'm fairly excitable/animated and I'm a huge sucker for novelty. I'm always looking for stuff that's unlike anything I've read/watched/listened to before.
I lived in Portland for 27 years until I decided to move down here, and so far I think I might just stay.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
- In general:
Arranging little pixelated symbols on a screen into useful configurations for fun and profit.
Deepening my understanding of whatever catches my interest (too many (not always useful) things).
Trying to figure out what makes me happy while stepping on as few people in the process as possible.
Avoiding religions, sports, political affiliations, subcultures, etc

- Currently:
Motorcycles: Riding and rebuilding them. Writing fancy visuals. Digital painting/vector art. Buying more books faster than I can read them. Using clever tricks to keep my 31 year old pickup running. Working on a video game that will prob never see the light of day.

- Later:
Dead.

- Later II:
Disbanding into bunch of atoms and eventually being compressed into a gravitational singularity I reckon. We'll all be there together. It'll be great! ^_^
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being semi-unpredictable. Repairing stuff. Grasping nuance. Going off on tangents because of said nuance.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When/if you meet me, you can tell me and I will come back and fill this in.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
I always have a huge stack of books lined up to read, but move through them slowly due to attention span. Despite being a programmer, I shun ebooks.
Last few favorites: Canticle For Leibowitz, John Dies at the End, House of Leaves, Children of the Mind, The Divine Invasion.
I really want to read more Philip K. Dick. Favorite author is H.P. Lovecraft.

I don't like a ton of comics, but love the more counterculture-esque stuff. Doom Patrol, Transmetropolitan, The Invisibles, etc. Deadpool is hilarious. Nearly anything with a cyberpunk or bio-horror element to it. Weird manga = A+.

Movies:
Smart horror, Sci-Fi (anything that contains synthetics/AI getting philosophical), b-movies, post-apocalyptic stuff, Shaw Bros Kung-fu, spaghetti westerns, abrasively bizarre asian cinema, french movies about existential crises where some dude shaves off his moustache for the first time in 15 years and his wife doesn't notice and so he loses his mind (actually real movie).
Mad Max is my favorite thing I've seen recently in a theater.

Directors: Davids Lynch & Cronenberg, John Carpenter, Nicholas Winding Refn, Kubrick, Tarantino, blah blah blah.

Animated: Aeon Flux, The Maxx, Akira, FLCL, Perfect Blue, Evangelion, Ghost In The Shell, Mindgame, Paranoia Agent, Paprika, Cowboy Bebop, Attack On Titan.

Shows: Rick and Morty, Twilight Zone, Adventure Time, The Mighty Boosh, Mitchell and Web, Black Adder, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Red Dwarf, Twin Peaks, MST3K.

Music:
I don't have a good way to describe my tastes.
My favorite artist is easily Foetus/J.G Thirlwell. He's just too unique and varied.

Akira Yamaoka, Carpenter Brut, The Cramps, Skinny Puppy, Polysics (& Devo, of course), Cibo Matto, Amon Tobin, Boards Of Canada, Malice Mizer, Yma Sumac, Mr. Bungle, Fela Kuti, Principles Of Geometry, Justice, Shostakovich, old film scores, klezmer, dark ambient, chiptunes, sexy 60's spy film music, exotica.
Overall I'm not much of a fan of the whole "3-5 expressionless lanky white dudes with a bass, a guitar & some drums" thing TBH. There's just too many interesting alternatives out there.

Food:
I'm for it. I'm pretty open minded about it. I try to keep it reasonably healthy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
[0] Internet (I use it for reference purposes constantly)
[1] A cat
[2] Tools
[3] Books
[4] Hot sauce
[5] Beer/Wine (I could do without, but....why?)
[6] Coffee
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Nonsense.
Recursion/self-reference and the nature of consciousness.
Cognitive bias.
Patriarchy, privilege, and the arbitrary nature of dominant paradigms.
What motivates people. What motivates me.
Why whichever motorcycle I'm working on isn't running properly.

Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Soaking in a delightful marinade. Covered in bees.

Mostly looking for something to do. I live by myself and all my good friends are married and don't go out much.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You probably should say hi if you find me interesting.
I know women get too much BS in their inbox on here, and a lot of ppl don't put much in their profile, so I likely won't message you unless it's obvious we have quite a bit in common and/or you rate me or something.

Prob worth stating somewhere that while I don't refer to myself as polyamorous I enjoy non-posessiveness and am quite open to it. Historically, I've been more monogamous than not but just having connections with people is cool *ଯ( ॢᵕ꒶̮ᵕ)ॢഒ*♡

And finally, if you're going to do the usual "Hi, you don't know me but impress me with a cool date idea in the first message" thing (omfg this happens often) I cordially invite you to skip me entirely.
I'm not about wooing people I haven't even had a proper conversation with. The bro you seek is in another castle.
