My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In California until the end of August and then going wherever I can find work, which is difficult when my resume mainly exists of "Handling baby owls" and "drawing stick figures". Fun fact: Owls don't transition to stick form well, so those skills in no way work together.

Most of my free time is spent reading, writing, drawing, attempting to be musical, and doing outdoorsy things. Currently getting into rock climbing

Mainly here because the whole working in a national forest thing makes meeting people all kinds of difficult. I meet more bears than people during the week.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated from UW-Madison in 2013, and now I'm pretty much just travelling around to whatever research work I can find until I can work my way into a graduate project
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've been told I'm good at telling stories.

And being awkward. I'm impressively skilled at being awkward.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not honestly sure. I've been pointed out in crowds as "that mountain man looking guy" before though
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music is awesome! Currently on a folk/bluegrass kick while trying to learn banjo, but I listen to pretty much everything but pop-country

I'll watch pretty much any movie ever, although whether or not I can force my self to take it seriously is pretty up in the air. When it comes to television, sitcoms. Either actually good ones or hilariously awful ones (Samurai Cop!), both are fine. And comedy. If you watch Community, I already like you. I also definitely nerd out for Marvel movies

I finally have time for reading now that I finished classes. Turns out you can download most of Rudyard Kipling for free. Currently trapped in the seemingly never ending Wheel of Time series though
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-my guitar
-um...cold beer
-six of these, really?
-another beer I guess
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Animals, science, music, bad jokes, food I'd like to eat, what the view would be like from the top of that building, whether or not a mountain lion is following me, how I probably don't really need two lungs but trying to sell one tends to raise some red flags in the medical community. You know, normal person things
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting a drink or adventuring. Possibly sitting around trying to learn banjo if there's no one around to annoy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I managed to put together a published comic strip for about two years while in college, and have been heavily debating trying to turn some of that into a stand-up routine

You don't mind talking to someone who's really bad at small talk. Like really, really bad until I get into an actual conversation. Someone once asked me what I did for fun and I said "running" because that's what was written on my shirt.

The research base I'm at also has terrible internet access, so apologies in advanced for seemingly random response times
