My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Studying at Second City. I'm an aspiring writer, but that doesn't mean all that much. I read a lot. I am passionate about good comedy. I love comic books. I'm a big Nintendo loyalist.

I enjoy taking long walks at night. I don't enjoy watching sports and could care less about cars.

I have a visual handicap. My vision is perfect, 20/20, but I lack the ability to visualize things or remember them accurately. For example when I read a book, I do not try to picture the characters. I process the information like I would a textbook. I know that Susan is a tall, Nordic woman with a penchant for wearing scarves, but I don't actually 'see' her.

Despite this handicap I am strongly drawn to illustrated narratives, although I probably enjoy paintings and sculptures less than most. I also don't get much out of most poetry, as it tends to be too focused on visual imagery for my tastes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to get closer to Chicago! I'm actually really close already, but financial issues have plagued me. I finally have a comfortable nest egg and am looking into what my next step should be.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing. Making people laugh. Needlessly over analyzing. Making Donald Duck noises.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair. They also tend to assume I'm below drinking age.

The other night at a bar a woman in her 40s attempted to flirt with me. She asked my age. When I responded honestly she said I didn't look any older than her 15 year old son. You may be shocked, but this pick up line did not work on me.

(I have no problems with age differences or someone having kids. Just reverse the genders, keep the statement, and see how creepy that line is.)

I don't understand why more people don't enjoy so-called high and low art equally. I'd go crazy if I couldn't pinball between the two.

I could go on and on about favorites so I'll just list a few.

Books: Kurt Vonnegut, Samuel Beckett, Philip K. Dick, James Joyce, Hunter S. Thompson, Flannery O'Conner, Raymond Carver, Stephen King, Haruki Murakami, Neil Gaiman, David Sedaris, Jean Paul Sartre, Phillip Roth, Raymond Carver.

Comics: Sandman, From Hell, Dark Knight Returns, Jimmy Corrigan the Smartest Boy on Earth, Bone, The Goon, American Splendor, X-Statix, most Robert Crumb, anything Love and Rockets related, Daredevil, Swamp Thing, Jeff Lemire, anything Fantagraphics or Top Shelf I will give a fair shake.

Movies: Brazil, Seven Samurai, Rushmore, The Third Man, The Human Tornado, Plankton, I Married a Strange Person, City of God, Waking Life, Spirited Away, Pi, Godfather. I don't watch as many movies as most people. I read, watch tv, and listen to podcasts.

TV: The Mighty Boosh, Blackadder, Bottom, Monty Python, The Office, Wonder Showzen, Arrested Development, Upright Citizens Brigade, Strangers With Candy, Mr. Show, Sopranos, Mad Men. British and/or underground comedy is my thing.

Music: Frank Zappa, Cibo Matto, The Pixies, De La Soul, Wu Tang Clan, Black Flag, Flipper, Nick Cave, Cheap Trick, The Clash, Ennio Morricone, Miles Davis, New Pornographers and the associated bands that implies, Melvins, Man Man, Faith No More and Bob Dylan.

Foods: I have bad taste in foods although I am doing my best to broaden my palette. I dislike most seafood and noodles. I mostly like junk and fruits. I could eat chicken every day. Pizza, hamburgers, and other such stuff as that... but I swear I'm eating better these days.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My first answer here for the longest time was a computer. I had to do without one for four years straight and my writing suffered horribly. I spent far less time on time wasting websites, but that doesn't balance it out.

The other five pale in comparison!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Cartoons. Philosophy and how it relates to my actions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am writing this on a Friday around midnight, so you can tell how exciting my social life is.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't even know why I keep checking this place out.

If you enjoy or can even tolerate the Residents.

If you want to watch a television show from start to back. Any of these would do: Sopranos, the Wire, Battlestar Galactica, Twin Peaks, the Shield, Lost, or Mad Men. Just about any halfway decent comedy show marathoned with intoxicants handy is my idea of a fun night.

If you can geek out with me about podcasts. I love Earwolf!

If you wanna exchange mix cds.
