My self-summary
I'm not really sure who I am, but who is really? I'm about 6'0", maybe 6'1". I've got some meat on my bones, and a stocky build. A foot ball build, as it was called in my home town. I have blue eyes, no hair and a kind of beard. I'm thinking of loosing the beard. I want to be an English teacher, at the highschool level, because I think I could reach young mind with a love of both literature and the semicolon. If that's not possible, I think I would make a good bus driver. I have been practicing saying "next stop Hurdman Station". I am a Christian, of sorts, but not practising. Well, practicing in my own way, but not going to church. I also have a lot of Native American beliefs, not to be cool or anything, just because they resonate with me. I'm happy, both with myself (I am awesome) and with life in general (it's beautiful, and so are you). I'm considered funny by most, but I don't really try at it; it just happens.

I'm one of those people who like to say very silly things with a dead pan face. I've never actually understood the expression dead pan. Is the pan dead or is my face dead because it got hit by a pan? Seriously, if you're reading this I need to know. It's important. They will break my legs.

I am clever, goofy, and awesome
What I’m doing with my life
I just got my BA in Psychology. That's right, I'm a grad, suckers! I am looking for a new job, but right now I'm just a part-timer at Loblaws. That gives me a lot of free time, which I use ridiculously. I've put up a few websites all of which are only half-finished. I spend a lot of time exploring around. I've got a library near by. I also live on the outskirts of Ottawa, so I've got this line where urban meets rural. It's nice, because I grew up in the woods and I love being outside and nature in general. Just hanging out and walking around the woods is awesome, although the pitiful woods around my current house are nothing compared to the ones I grew up in.

I currently spend a lot of time with my four roommates. We particularly enjoy buzzing, which is when you drive past someone on the street and yell something out the window to them. The part that makes it fun is not being rude, but being enigmatic. Our favourite thing to yell is "Seasonal Wear" and one time we got an old man to do the robot while blasting Safety Dance. Between the five of us, we are also pretty stocked on video games and we have a PS3, X BOX and a Wii.

I previously mention books, but I'm also a big reader of the graphic novels. I like both comics ranging from Green Lantern to the more obvious Batman and manga as well (I got my start with FMA).
I’m really good at
Making things up on the spot. People tell me that the main reason they enjoy talking to me is because I can turn whatever they say into something funny. I'm also good at making fun of myself, which is key to humour, really. That and the random mention of penguins. I'd like to think I'm good at fighting crime, but you know how it is. Sometimes you catch the criminal, and sometimes Doctor Doom knocks you out with his death ray, which by the way is poorly named. It does not cause death.

I'm also a very good listener. Growing up, I was always the guy that the girls would call up and talk to about their problems. Now I'm the guy with the degree in Psychology. I am sensing a pattern here.

Not being embarassed. Seriously. I do not get embarassed. If there is something you want to do, but you think it's embarassing, I'm probably the guy to do it with. I've been in sex shops, ran around naked outside, asked strangers to dance the Safety Dance, drove around in a car yelling "I'm the Spider Man" out the window, etc.

Music. I know it's a sentence fragment but I don't care. Music has kind of been my world for the past few years. I've been in a bajillion bands. Actually, only . My first band was Clover Road, in which I played the keyboard and sing. We did mostly covers and a few original soft rock songs. I then joined a Christian Rock Band called Time to Rock 3:16, in which I again played boards and sang (although this time playing boards meant that I played a grand piano. I also played in another Christian Band called God's Creation, but TTR 3:16 was tighter and put out an album. For most of high school and technically still currently, I am in a band called The Stags of Shagwood. I play the Trombone and sing. This is my favourite of all the bands I've been in so far. We play a sort of reggae or ska or maybe brassy rock music while incorporating ridiculous lyrics.

Computer junk. I can fix a computer. Who can't these days?
The first things people usually notice about me
I asked one of my friends that question, and he said that I come off as a rude jackass, but that underneathe I was this nice, deep person. He thought I was afraid to let anyone in. I told him I only let the worthy in, FOR I AM THE KING OF THE PLANET! KNEEL BEFORE ME!

Also, my beard. Right now I kind of look like Mr Clean with a goatee.

I currently, on and off, walk with a limp. I have a nerve problem in my right foot so on bad days I limp and on normal days I don't. On the odd really bad day I walk with a cane.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Oh, there are too many to count. I guess I'll admit to liking all of Tolkien's books. Ghost stories in general, as well. Harry Potter. Everything Carl Sagan wrote. I don't know, I just love books. I have library cards in every city I've ever lived in (which is not saying that much) and am the only one of my friends who, not only has a bookcase in their room, but also has it so full that the books are doubled up on the shelf. I go to the library several times a month, and I actually factor in how close a library is before moving.

Movies: I like rock operas. Rent, JCSS, Shock Treatment, Phantom of the Paradise, etc. Also old B movies. I love the feeling of seeing a movie that no one really appreciated or enjoyed but now it's funny because it's out of context, you know what I mean?

Music: I have about five or six gigs of music, and barely any bands I like but songs by different bands. I love classic rock, be it Styx or Kiss or Boston or Pink Floyd. I've been known to listen to Alanis Morriset if I'm having a bad day. If I'm travelling somewhere, I like Barenaked Ladies. Recently I've been on an '80s/electroclash type of phase and have been listening to obscene amounts of Freezepop. When I was growing up I enjoyed Baroque, now I've also incorporated Opera. I like some reggae beats.

Food: Chinese food buffets are awesome. I also like Indian food. Pho. I know, I'm boring. My absolute favourite though is schnitzel and lungush, half of which my mom refuses to make (she used to make it every time I came home) and I can't find it anywhere in this city. Oh well.
The six things I could never do without
1. Well-written novels, and my main source of them, which is the library. 2. My computer. (Everything I've ever written, played or done is on there) 3. Sass. Nothing fancy, just some plain, old sass. 4. My friends & family, which may seem like two things, but if you think about it, it's really more like ten or twenty things. 5. Shoes. I walk when I'm thinking, which is most of the time, so I tend to wear them out alot. 6. Silly costumes, which I usually get from Value Villiage. There's nothing quite like having people stare and grin at you when you walk down Bank Street. I recently bought one that looks like I'm riding an ostrich. That was fun to wear while running down Bank Street.

I'm almost tempted to add a seventh, which is safety dance, but I wouldn't break the rules for random songs by Montreal artists.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think alot. Sometimes I'm narrating my life, which may seem weird but...no, it's kind of weird. Forget the but. The fact of the matter is that I have a very literary mind and I tend to use it frequently. Sometimes I'm debating the next conversation I have or things that I'm worried about. This helps me plan ahead (if he does this I do that, etc).
On a typical Friday night I am
I just found out I'm not working another Friday or Saturday, so now Friday's have gone from sleep night to party night! Sometimes there are actual parties. Sometimes party night means run around the neighbourhood setting off fireworks. I've also been known to spend some Fridays quietly playing games while my roommates study for their exams because only two out of the five of us are actually graduates.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've been burned alot and badly. I've seriously had times when I've decided not to date ever again, and then some girl comes along and we fall in love and then she cheats on me. It's a ridiculous pattern. If it's something I'm doing, I'm willing to change, but I need to know what it is I'm doing. Either way, I have ridiculous trust issues, especially when dating. The only reason I got this account is, well, I think my friend Jo talked me into it. It's possible that I'm only attracted to women who are damaged in a certain way and after I help fix them they leave me, but I will be frank; if you want to be a friend, that's good. If you want to be more that's good to, but if you are just going to cheat on me or hurt me again, you might as well not bother.

I find it hard to interact physically with girls anymore. You seriously need to be the initiator in pretty much all physical contact.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 22–46
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
If you like a guy who knows how to spell, isn't going to ask to view your webcam or for compromising pictures. If you want a friend to talk to. If you're going through a hard time and need some support. If you want to get to know someone on a deep level, or hell, just want to go for a walk along the canal (preferably in the rain). If you like shouting things out windows or dressing up like a superhero and pretending to fight crime. If you like standing very still in store windows so that people think you are a mannequin and then winking at them. If you like, well, things. To do.

I'm pretty easy going, though I've been known to have a costic wit.
