Making things up on the spot. People tell me that the main reason
they enjoy talking to me is because I can turn whatever they say
into something funny. I'm also good at making fun of myself, which
is key to humour, really. That and the random mention of
penguins. I'd like to
think I'm good at fighting crime, but you know how it is. Sometimes
you catch the criminal, and sometimes Doctor Doom knocks you out
with his death ray, which by the way is poorly named. It does not
cause death.
I'm also a very good listener. Growing up, I was always the guy
that the girls would call up and talk to about their problems. Now
I'm the guy with the degree in Psychology. I am sensing a pattern
here.
Not being embarassed. Seriously. I do not get embarassed. If there
is something you want to do, but you think it's embarassing, I'm
probably the guy to do it with. I've been in sex shops, ran around
naked outside, asked strangers to dance the Safety Dance, drove
around in a car yelling "I'm the Spider Man" out the window,
etc.
Music. I know it's a
sentence fragment but I don't care. Music has kind of been my world
for the past few years. I've been in a bajillion bands. Actually,
only . My first band was Clover Road, in which I played the
keyboard and
sing. We did mostly
covers and a few original soft rock songs. I then joined a
Christian Rock Band called Time to Rock 3:16, in which I again
played boards and sang (although this time playing boards meant
that I played a
grand piano. I also played in
another Christian Band called God's Creation, but TTR 3:16 was
tighter and put out an album. For most of high school and
technically still currently, I am in a band called The Stags of
Shagwood. I play the
Trombone and sing. This is my favourite
of all the bands I've been in so far. We play a sort of reggae or
ska or maybe brassy rock music while incorporating ridiculous
lyrics.
Computer junk. I can fix a computer. Who can't these days?
