I'm the shy nerdy type; I don't talk a lot, and I've been told I'm "hard to read." But if you stick around and get to know me, I'll open up more. Or if you're short on time, just get me drunk--ethanol is the only substance on earth that can render me talkative. I'm a code-monkey by trade, because it pays the bills with plenty left over for art supplies, and leaves me enough time and energy to mess around with all the creative stuff that makes me happy. I'm very independent, honest, straightforward, laid-back, and low-maintenance; I don't lie, play mind games, or court drama. I'm looking for someone with similar qualities; authenticity and integrity are very important to me. I've been polyamorous/non-monogamous for the last 10 years or so, but I'm no longer certain that that's the relationship style I want. At this point I'd be open to either a monogamous relationship, or a poly relationship in which I'm the primary. And if nothing else, the poly experience has given me some razor-sharp drama-avoidance and communication skills.
I'm an introvert and I do enjoy my alone time, but I always make sure I have stuff to do that will get me out of the house and meeting new people. Within the first few months of moving to Minneapolis, I found a drunken spelling bee, a drunken knit night, a knitting group that meets in a sex shop, and an art class that meets in a bar--it's like all my favorite interests are converging! I like to make all sorts of stuff; I recently started fooling around with computational textiles (i.e. clothes with blinky lights in them), mostly using the Arduino Lilypad and LEDs. I've been taking belly dancing lessons for a couple of years now, and sporadically trying to teach myself guitar. I also draw, paint, and make jewelry once in a while, and I like to knit stuff and spin my own yarn. I tell myself that I'm improving my post-apocalyptic marketability by learning how to make blankets and clothes from scratch, and have a cherished daydream wherein I've become filthy rich in the new barter economy and my boss has to come be my butler.
