My self-summary
In a few words, I think others would describe me as thoughtful, creative, and loyal. I think I would be considered an introvert by nature, but I hold the occasional themed party, and enjoy meeting creative and interesting people.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm splitting my time between teaching and being a freelance designer.

I travel occasionally and enjoy learning about other cultures and making friends around the world.

The most important thing to me is to live responsibly, to make a positive impact, and to be there for my friends. Beyond that, I live for my passions and pursue what makes me happy.
I’m really good at
Carving a violin while drunk.
Fixing things around the house.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really like art books, whether they be on Japanese lacquer, or "The Art of Tron Legacy", I enjoy getting in the mind of the artist and understanding how they imagined and developed their work. Aside from these, I like reading science fiction and fantasy. Recently I've been reading books like "Outliers", "Freakonomics" and "4 Hour Work Week" because of their interesting new take on life.

I'll always remember "The Little Prince". When I was little, I liked that book so much that I borrowed it from the library and never returned it. I probably owe millions in library fees.

There's almost no food that I won't eat. My favorites are still Chinese and Japanese food, but I like trying new dishes (and trying to cook them, once in a while)

I don't own a TV, but back in the day, I followed X-Files religiously. Recently I really got into Naruto and The Mighty Boosh. As for movies, I tend towards the scifi (Star Trek 2009, Minority Report, Iron Man-who woulda guessed?) A few more favorites are The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Fifth Element, Tropic Thunder, The Prestige, and works by Miyazaki. I'm always up for any type of science fiction, action, or fantasy movie.

My musical preferences are scattered. Some all-time favorites are Aerosmith, Mozart, Cake, Queen, Bach, Ok Go, X Japan, some Chinese or Japanese traditional pieces, and good soundtracks.
The six things I could never do without
A camera - I always like to have a camera ready in case I want to remember a sight, or if there's a UFO.

Paper and pencil - I absolutely have to jot down my ideas.

A project (or five), stewing in my mind.

Bailey's, creamy
On a typical Friday night I am
modeling crustaceans on a computer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have on occasion consumed an avocado on its own, without pretense or ceremony. Not in a sandwich, salad, or spread.

I answered a lot of questions frankly and openly; I'd rather we figure out our incompatibilities early on.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–36
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
If you're passionate about something you love. If you want to have a concert, convention, museum, or movie companion. If you can run a company.

Ok, does anyone else feel ambivalent about the ongoing arms-race on these Okcupid profiles, how we're all trying to sound interesting by listing the massive amounts of traveling we all seem to do, and all the extracurricular partying and clubbing and climbing. Don't get me wrong, I've do a lot been to a lot of countries at this point, but still, that's just about two or three ventures per year, and all that leisure stuff is on still just a fraction of our lives. Can you really determine compatibility by that small slice? When it comes to relationships, I'd rather know about the little things you find funny, or how we vent after a bad day, or whether we can happily laze around on a weekend while doing laundry, without annoying the hell out of each other.
