Hello.

Who am I?
I am Matthias. (Yes, that's my real name.) I am a reader, a writer, a singer, and a lover. I am a small piece of the massive jigsaw puzzle that is life. In the grand scheme of things, you might not notice me missing, but the world wouldn't be quite the same without me, no matter what my significance in its greater scheme.

What am I about?
I am about expression. I am about defending those I care for, and being there as a support channel for any who ask. If a stranger on the street needed an ear, I'd go every step short of pulling a Van Gogh and cutting it off for them.

What am I here for?
Connections. Friends, conversation, and we'll see where we go from there.

Where am I from?
Born in Schenectady, NY and raised in Northampton, MA, I've got blood from many different nations, both foreign and domestic.

Where am I going?
Wherever life takes me. I want to travel. I want to experience life, love, and seize the day! Carpe diem!

Why am I here?
Because I am shy. In person, it can be difficult for me to take the first step.

When?
Ask me these questions, I truly don't know what to put here...

How did I come about finding this place?
Truth be told, it was a forum post making fun of this site, and I originally made an account just to see what it was all about.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
As I am only 23, I have many things I'd LIKE to do: History teacher, mechanic, business owner, etc... But what I will end up doing? Who knows!

I do know I want to settle in a Hobbit hole (LotR)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have a particular proclivity at the following things, but that does not exclude things not mentioned...

Singing ~ I am told I have a very good voice; I've used it to sing people from my exes to my little siblings to sleep, I've used it for fun, and I've used it for profit. Pat present, I'd like nothing more than to find a band worth sticking around with.

Writing ~ I am a poet. I've got a few poems I'd be interested in publishing, but I don't care for such things, as I usually only write poetry for fun.

Listening ~ When I'm with someone and she's speaking to me, I take great care to absorb every syllable, for she is, ideally, my other half and deserves the same care that I would expect from her.

Athletics ~ In my unit, I was the best runner in my company. I am an avid martial artist, and allow my nerdier side to show with LARP/Boffing... I've been working with sword arts for much of my life, as well as martial arts.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have very striking brown eyes, and a lot of charisma.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

~Books?~
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, first and foremost. The Tolkein works have enthralled and inspired me for the majority of my life. I am a Lord of the Rings nerd through and through. None I know have those works as well memorized and studied as I have...

The Night Angel trilogy brings up a close second. It's truly a work of modern art, with all of the sex and violence a guy could want, and it doesn't detract from the story at all!

The Lightbringer books by the same author as the Night Angel trilogy, it goes more along the lines of magic than the subtle art of subjugation and assassination.

The Kingkiller Chronicles written by Patrick Rothfuss, it's a story that is quickly becoming one of my favorite series below the Lord of the Rings. It's about a man who was once a legendary figure in his world but retires to be a humble innkeeper. He is found by a man called the Chronicler and he tells his story.

I am honestly the type to try any kind of book once, but I have got high standards. If the first few chapters can't hook me, I will likely put the book down and look elsewhere.

~Movies?~
Lord of the Rings, of course. I like many movies, my favorite being the Lion King. I am not well versed in cinema, my collection being mostly Disney, Action, and Martial Arts movies. I don't really watch them that much, and only truly focus on them when I have nothing else to do...

~Music?~
I suppose I am a metalhead at heart, but if it isn't metal, I'll listen to almost anything with deep lyrics or a good melody...

~Food?~
Jelly beans, wings, and anything that doesn't involve onions and peppers.

I will never, EVER, be able to be a vegetarian/vegan. It's just not in my ability. I would die from a week of no meat. Pure torture!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, my brain, my vital organs, food, and water... the essential things in life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next project.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working at my job, or working on my car unless I've got something better to do!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I, one day, plan to build (myself) and reside in a Hobbit Hole, as described by Tolkien.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you have anything to say
IF YOU LIKE KARAOKE
Going down the road while blasting/singing Livin' on a Prayer sounds like fun to you
You have a taste for humor of all kinds
You can go from a night on the town one day to a night watching movies on another

There really needs to be a "You should NOT message me if..." section... So here's one from me!

You should NOT message me if:
You smoke. - I don't allow smoking in my car and I don't allow it in my apartment.

You are uncomfortable with your SO having friends of the female gender. - Sorry ladies, but jealousy is not attractive. Trust is a cornerstone of a relationship, and trying to control your partner's friend base is just slimy.

You have no sense of humor - Please don't be a stick in the mud. That's no fun.

You are offended by someone who eats meat - There's nothing immoral about staying true to nature and eating meat. We're omnivores for a reason.

You have trouble differentiating the difference between the words of and have. Seriously, if you say should of, would of, could of, must of, etc in text, that's a problem. 3rd grade English, folks.
