My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Happy-go-lucky, lots of fun, take my work very seriously, but me? Not so much. Love a good time, good people, good food, and great music. Definitely a people person!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've spent a long time studying and working on a career that has finally come to fruition. I'm a fiction writer at heart, but have done all kinds of different things in the publishing business--from writing magazine articles to proofreading entire magazine issues to selling ads to laying out an entire book. Anything to make that deadline. Now I'm in coasting mode, wondering just how long I'll keep at it until I either decide on another career or be in a position to retire. Who knows? I never really planned for a time when I wasn't either in school or working, so the future is whatever I decide it will be when I decide it!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh. I have a wicked, disrespectful sense of humor. Quick wit and great with the words. I'm also really good at my job, which right now is as a medical writer. I'm told that I'm very good at it and am very respected in that field. I'm a great editor! Need one for that book you're writing??

That I laugh a lot. I'm told I have an infectious, contagious laugh. I find the humor in just about anything. Also, when I first meet someone, he will comment on my smile. I have a goofy kind of smile: toothy, bright, and broad. I smile and laugh easily, so it's no wonder. I had a coworker at an old job who sat across the cube wall from me and whom I rarely saw tell me when he left that job the only thing he would miss was hearing me laugh through the cube wall. I took that as a compliment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'll read anything. Cereal boxes, ketchup packets, anything with writing on it. I've got a Masters degree in English, focusing on American literature, particularly 1950s subversive literature! Right now on my nightstand is a volume of American short stories. Even though I've already read most of them, there are a few I have yet to discover. I am a huge fan of TCM, and many of my favorite movies are classics. I have many, many favorite movies, but To Kill a Mockingbird is probably my all-time favorite, although I am a huge fan of current comedies (Apatow), Pixar, and the Cohens. Too many to list. TV? Kind of a short list here because most of my favorites are gone, alive only on Netflix. Big Bang Theory, the Goldbergs, John Oliver, and Bil Maher are the only shows scheduled to record on my DVR, and a couple foodie competition shows like Top Chef and Master Chef. Music? Give me the Beatles and Green Day, with a little Foo Fighters thrown in (love David Grohl), any day. I don't like to say that I'm stuck a lot in the past music-wise, but I am. Can't really relate to a lot of new stuff. I also love blues and like some light jazz. Favorite food? Anything local. I like farm-to-table restaurants. But if I have to pick something, I'd say I like French cuisine the best.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My kids, coffee, laughter, my friends, movies, and beer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I don't spend a lot of time thinking about any one thing in particular, but lately I find I've been thinking a little about what I'm going to do if and when I retire.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Checking to see who is going where so I can figure out if I want to join them. Go a lot to Ohio City and Downtown restaurants and bars. Love happy hours, but Friday evenings get a little too crowded.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I secretly watch Say Yes to the Dress when I have nothing else to do. That show is a train wreck. Can't believe that in this day and age, all these southern women are still obsessing over their wedding dresses.
