I am quixotic, erotic, and neurotic.
My Self-Summary
I'm a hysterical, neurotic, erotic, phychotic with obsessional
tendancies. Like all writers. Who needs phychologists when you have
brains and a keyboard, apply one to the other and instant
therapy?
No neutral. I have no neutral.
I have a tendancy to fall in love. Headlong, searing with ideas
that aren't mine, falling, flailing, trying not to clutch, to
cling, failing. My usual thing. But I'm into unrequited love. It's
good for you - aerobics for the soul, toning for the heart, the
safest form of sex and of course - the weight benefits are pretty
damn good.
But define love. You fall in love with a person's potential. You
can fall in love with a person because they show you yourself and
your own potential. You can fall in love with a person because they
explode your mind and open you to a universe of new ideas. Or they
can see and understand your ideas when no one else can. You can
fall in love with a person because you think you see potential, but
what you're seeing is yourself reflected back at you projection.
Projection. Bloody projection. And of course you fall in love
because hey, you just wanna get down and dirty and oiled and
sweaty, fuck cerebral, let's get carnal. Not interested in
carnality since I'm married but that's my emotional wiring.
I'm into the flirtation, the mindmeld, a brief flare along the
neurons, the swift touch of thought, glancing, addictive,
intoxicating.
Words, words, words.. those damn words.. They generate this psychic
electricity in me, an earthquake of the body/mind/heart, and
suddenly I'm having a rush of blood to the heart, and muscles are
thrumming and all I can feel is the thud of heat in the body.
Altogether now, in three part harmony Yeah, yeah. That's the name
of that song. And when the body is shackled to words as mine is,
well hello oblivion.
I'm into ((ideas)), ((books)), ((movies))
What I’m doing with my life
Writing for film and TV. Can anyone say maschist really fast?. I'm
a word junkie, and I make my living by writing for a medium that
tends to despise them.
I’m really good at
avoiding deadlines. Which is what I'm doing right now.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have no idea. Probably better to ask them.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
depends on mood. Terry Pratchett is the ubergod, closely followed
by Kate Atkinson, Steven King, Urusula le Guin, Angela Carter,
Barbera Trapido, Carl Hiasen, I'll read anything and appreciate it,
as long as it's good of it's genre.
Favourite movie at the moment is "Thank you for Smoking". Brilliant
script, closely followed by "Sideways", "Children of Heaven" "Kiss
kiss bang bang" I'm a genre Junkie. Love westerns, film noir and
good horror.
Music - depends on what I'm working on. At the moment I'm listening
to a lot of gospel - writing a TV drama set against a gospel
background.
Food? I have a deal with Mr. Delivery. They don't do scripts. I
don't do food.
The six things I could never do without
My daughter. My Significent Other. My laptop. My cell (log onto the
laptop through it). My dogs (all 7 of them). My friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When is that bloody cheque gonna clear? free-lance writing is not
for the weak.
On a typical Friday night I am
trying to kill a deadline. and the buggers refuse to die.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Um - I don't have anything private - it's all put into my scripts.
You should message me if
Actually I'm just here for the quizzes. So probably not a good idea
to message me if you're looking for some cyber sex. But if you're
into sharing ideas and meeting new people, I'm your huckleberry.
