My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I wear hats. I hate mediocrity. I idolize Bogart and pretend I live in a gritty noir novel. Anything else, ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Babysitting five days out of the week! 2 year old and a 6 year old, but at least it pays...somewhat. But the kids are awesome, so I can't complain.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a politics buff. Geopolitics and international affairs, not so hot on the local stuff. I'm a writer of relatively compelling quality, I've been told, and I absolutely adore philosophy. I can kill three hours debating obscure philosophical points, easily. Otherwise, I'm a bang-up cook and a pretty decent actor. Hell, I'm being modest. I pretty much rock.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hat, usually. Normally a fedora or a conductor's cap. Or my earrings, I suppose.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I read a lot, so my favorite book list would probably fill a book by itself. But I guess my top picks would be the Dresden Files, the Spenser novels, Neuromancer, and the Harry Potter books (a guilty pleasure). Equilibrium was definitely an awesome movie, but I've seen the new Star Trek movie, and it was simply epic. I'm somewhat of a major Trekkie, though not of the overweight and aging variety. Serenity, obviously, cause I'm a Browncoat. Also the classics (Casablanca, the Maltese Falcon...Really, anything that has Bogart). And Scott Pilgrim, because c'mon. He's Scott Pilgrim. And where would I be if I didn't mention Transmetropolitan or Warren Ellis in general, a man who has had such influence on my life. Of course the cyberpunk classics - the Sprawl trilogy, Snow Crash etc. Some of the Shadowrun novels. I read comics. Lots of comics. If it's a comic, I've either read it/heard of it. Also, the Principa Discordia, since it's my Bible. Fnord? Then there's a newsrags I consume daily - The Nation, New Statesman, The Economist, New Yorker...and on and on and on. Christopher Hitchens (RIP, you beautiful bastard), is my favorite journo.

I mostly listen to reggaeton and bossa nova now. Roberta Sa, Rosalia de Souza, French pop Yele (I ain't proud.) Or of course Chopin, Mozart, and definitely Sinatra and Louis Armstrong.

I don't eat all that often, more because I'm lazy and a smoker than anything else, but I love food. Like I said above, I enjoy cooking a great bit, and I'll try anything at least once. I'm an unabashed carnivore.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, the internet, a pack of cigarettes, alcohol, books, and the rest of the world.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to afford a villa on the French Riviera. It's more a hope, y'know.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out at don't look back. I could write an ode to that place and its delicious tequila and tacos.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I adore kids.
