My self-summary
Currently living in Melbourne, in Brunswick, which I love. I work in the film and tv industry. I spend a lot of time going to films and theatre and then having ranty discussions about them after. I believe a choc top is a viable dinner choice. I love to read. At events I get more excited about the canapés than the networking. I would rather wear jeans than dresses. I have pretended to be sick on occasion so I could watch just one (read: five) more episode. I get insomnia and sometimes while laying sleepless at 4am, imagine going into my flatmates rooms and drawing moustaches on them. Breakfast is my favourite meal. I’m not very competitive except for when it comes to getting a tram seat and then I am fierce. I drink red wine over white. Quite often I buy hats thinking I will become that quirky “hat girl”. I never wear these hats. Once I met Buzz Aldrin and he said he thought I would be famous one day, my Mum has clung desperately to this for many years…
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to get through life with charm, poise and grace. Failing hideously and usually ending up in a drunk pile lamenting lack of charm, poise and/or grace.
I’m really good at
Remembering obscure facts that shouldn't be taking up space in the human mind. For example: Did you know the electric blanket was invented before the fridge? Who on earth is going to lie on a blanket of wires when they can't even keep food cold?
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually when meeting new people I either fall over or magically locate a glass or some cutlery to knock on the floor. So I would say that. It embarrassing but I am learning to live with it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: anything and everything.
Music: too scared to say in case judged by smug musical types.
Movies: Strictly Ballroom, Labyrinth, old Katherine Hepburn movies, Terrance Malick films, John Hughes movies, docos, anything involving Charlie Kaufman, Terminator, Alien, Ghostbusters. Too many to list...
Food:Most things except gherkins, have paranoid fear of gherkins after working at McDonalds as a teenager and having a bucket of them fall on my head at the beginning of my shift and not being allowed to go home and then all the cool kids of my school walking in for post-rave McDonalds and me having to serve them covered in gherkins. (Shudder)
The six things I could never do without
The snooze button. I love that button. The sweet promise of ten more minutes sleep until you are late for work is dangerous and addictive. I have to work on weaning myself off it.

Friends. Lame but true. Mine are pretty ace. I fear the day they realise I am not as cool as them.

TV. The Wire; Arrested Development; Spaced; 30 Rock; Mad Men; Parks and Rec; Buffy; Community; True Blood; Game of Thrones. You know, the usual suspects for any self respecting, educated, left wing, middle class lass.

Phone. I'm only saying that because I lost mine yesterday and now I feel so, so alone in the world. It's like I have fallen into a social black hole of doom.

Sandwiches. If I could re-do the food pyramid I would just put in a picture of a sandwich and be done with it.

Stories. Fun to re-tell the embarrassing or horrible details of your weekend for the amusement of people everywhere...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Obviously the fate of humanity. Doesn't everyone?
On a typical Friday night I am
At the pub with friends, at the theatre or a gig, having people over for dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Shameful love of historical romance featuring pirates.
You should message me if
If we were on holiday in a small seaside village and a murder took place you think you could team up with me to piece together the clues and discover the identity of the killer.
