My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
One of these days (not exactly sure when that day will be), I will have it in me to create a more epic profile than I have currently. It will be extraordinarily exciting, so prepare yourself both emotionally and psychologically. I am from Dallas, and in grad school currently. It's all been a relatively exciting adventure so far I suppose. I'm currently a victim advocate for children, and I really dig that, it's nice to feel that sense of purpose on a day to day basis.

Creating a "self-summary" is difficult...It's a little daunting thinking how I would begin to combine twenty six years of life into a few paragraphs. People are pretty complex, and fairly hard to condense down to paragraph form.

Here are two juicy nuggets of information for you in the meantime:
- I was a philosophy major, and I enjoy a good intellectual conversation.
- I freaking adore penguins. They're insanely adorable. Am I right?

Also, I've been on kind of a Diablo III kick lately, it's like a time sucking vortex.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently in graduate school studying social work. I'm training to be a counselor/group facilitator. Yes, it does sound pretty cliché (so prepare yourself), but I legitimately do enjoy helping people, and that is what I plan on doing with my life as of now. I am a former filmmaker, and I oftentimes miss that (note: I miss it quite a bit). It is still something I plan on pursuing as a hobby, and filming and video editing have certainly been on my mind quite a bit lately.

I also am doing a lot of watching Netflix, does that count as something I'm doing with my life? Surely it does, talk about productivity. Don't you judge me okcupid.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm good at word games (i.e crossword puzzles, anagrams, etc). I used to want to be a writer, so I'm pretty good with the written word (or at least I'd like to believe that).

I'd also like to believe that I'm pretty good at being empathetic. Compassion is something I value over pretty much anything, so that is legitimately how I choose to live my life on a day to day basis. I tend to have a knack for self-reflection as well, I think being keenly aware of your own strengths and weaknesses is vital to a worthwhile life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I talk very fast, some might argue impressively fast. Of course, I'm working on that. Because, you know, rumor has it that being understood is ideal.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This question makes me want to reevaluate my entire life. I will get back to you regarding this answer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The fact that I spend far too much thinking in general. True story. I am pretty existential by nature, so I often get stuck on certain thoughts. I would like to work on that, because getting stuck on a thought is not really the root of productivity.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am probably doing whatever strikes my fancy at the present moment. This could easily involve watching Netflix...Netflix and I have a very special and close bond.

I also could be attempting to do work for grad school, or, if it is a particularly good Friday night, hanging around people who mean a great deal to me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
At my core, I am certainly a romantic. For many acquaintances who know me casually, that might come as a definite surprise. I'm a complicated snowflake.

Oh, and also, I sometimes struggle to live in the present moment. I have a propensity to sometimes either focus on the past or get caught up in hypotheticals involving the future. I'll admit to that.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You find me intriguing, because perhaps I might find you rather captivating as well.

It could just be the start of something beautiful, you never know.

Also, don't be scared to message me because it says I reply "very selectively," I honestly do my best to respond to quality messages. If you put a little substance in your message, there's a definite chance I'll respond. I will say this about my responses though, I do pay attention to match percentage. You've got to sort through the madness that is this site somehow!
