My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Professional male enjoys traveling, the outdoors, music, and films.

Let's degenericize this a bit. I'm a software engineer living in Tucson for 8 years. I have a penchant for travel both domestic and international, especially to Chicago, Europe, and New Zealand. I go skiing every year and I enjoy biking and hiking around Tucson, though not so much in the summer. If I am outside for any length of time I will attempt to identify all the birds in my visual range.

Since I was a young lad I have played music. I do not break out the instruments too often anymore, but music is still very important to me. I have a degree in physics and a weakness for peasant skirts. Got hella stability in my life right now.

I probably look like someone you know.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working full time as a software developer, visiting friends and family in Phoenix, going to the Loft on the reg, biking in the evening.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, criticizing films, traveling, winking, changing a tire
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile, it's great. Got a compliment on my teeth recently, but I think that counts as the same thing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like a book that has clever language and says something about the human condition. Plot is overrated. Catch-22, Gravity's Rainbow, Foucault's Pendulum, Candide, Crime and Punishment, Black Swan Green, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Invisible Man.

I don't watch many shows, but if you like Coupling or Arrested Development we'll get along just fine.

I don't have any favorite genre of film, but I tend to gravitate towards independent or foreign films that are visually striking. The Third Man, In the Mood for Love, Alien, City of God, Melancholia, Fantastic Mr. Fox, For a Few Dollars More, A Prophet, The Host, The Thing, Annie Hall, Dr. Strangelove, Solaris, Wet Hot American Summer

Music is hard. Instead of falling into the trap of trying to assign genres to my favorites, I'll just list some (few (very few)) of them. Dave Brubeck, Portishead, Pixies, The New Pornographers, El Guincho, Queens of the Stone Age, Animal Collective, Colin Stetson, King Khan and the Shrines, Billie Holiday, Violent Femmes, Public Enemy, Amanda Palmer
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A passport
8" chef's knife
Hiking boots. Please don't hike in sneakers!
A toolset
My music collection
A bottle of Becherovka
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Science and Technology, its part of my job and part of my personality. I grew up building with LEGO and I still like to pick things apart to find out how they work or how to fix them.

I'm also into social justice, feminism, and socialism. I believe in doing good for others, no matter what their circumstances, and I recognize the good fortune I have had that allows me to do such.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Bike up to the Rillito and back after work, go out to The Loft Cinema or meet friends at Scott & Co. for drinks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Scared of centipedes, they are just the worst.

you're grounded and independent. Car and a job are pluses.

If you want to go see some obscure film and you can't get any friends to go. I WILL WATCH THAT MOVIE.
