Yup.
Not entirely sure why.. but this song is stuck in my head.

Apocolyptica's cover of Nothing Else Matters.
I'd actually had high hopes for the current administration, but when it came to light that they were pushing bills thru, voting on them, without even reading what was in them and then trying to defend the practice to the people... and telling us everything's going to be okay.....
And with the Healthcare reform debate..
Some hate the bill that's been available for view.
Others hate those who hate the bill.
Apparently that's not even the final bill... or it may be something entirely different that they pass.
But, whatever it is they're planning on passing... we're told that it's going to be great.. and if we're against it, whatever it is... well.. we're practically unamerican.
I keep looking around, wondering when Rod Serling is going to appear and tell us we've all just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.
Good gawd that chick is an absolute goddess in person.
And with that... another Dragon Con slips into the pages of history. :)
This chick is frickin amazing to watch.....a constantly morphing work of art just using sand on a backlit table, viewed from overhead.

Every so often I have to wonder about OKC and 'Wink'....
OKC is thus far, free.
One can email as often as one wishes... for free.
Yet... they include 'Wink'..... which is generally on pay sites to allow a non-paying member to let a paying member know they have interest... without paying. (though quite often you have to pay to read any email the paying member might choose to send.)
*And* they put a limit on the number of times one can 'Wink' per day.. when emailing a zillion people a day is still free.
And... why 'Wink' in the first place when emailing is free?
If you can't think of anything to say to the person in an email... why would they make an effort to respond?.. other than to possibly 'wink' back.. being the equivalent of nodding to each other as you pass in a hallway at work...
Hrmm..
Saw a headline about the Cash for Clunkers program already possibly running out of money after a matter of days rather than the months originally projected...
And it makes me wonder...
When they calculate government programs... are they attempting to use a form of Bistromathics? :P
Then I get distracted, lose my place... and have to start all
over.
