My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I just moved to the area recently. I've been to Chicago numerous times, but hasn't gotten the chance to "know" the city. I am looking to find someone who can show me what the city has to offer.

I was born in Hong Kong, but my family came to the U.S. when I was young. Here's a bit about me:

Worst part of being Asian?
- No, I don't know Kung-Fu and cannot teach you the "five finger death touch" or whatever it's called.

- I am not a bad driver, I am just directionally challenged.

- I don't speak "Engrish." I have a better understanding of the English language and have better usage of grammar than most people.

Best part of being Asian?
- "Soiree I no speak Engrish" actually does work!

- People have a hard time telling if my eyes are open or not? I can pretend to be awake when I'm not...

I am fairly nerdy in nature. I can't explain astrophysics to you, but I can tell you more about various fish/corals and water chemistry than you'll ever want to know. I'm kind of a science information sponge.

I like to go hiking and mountain biking with my dog. I bought him a backpack, so he can now carry his own stuff while we're out (if I'm busting my ass carrying stuff, so should he). I never thought I would, but I went skydiving this year. It was exhilarating, and I would definitely go again!

I'd like to travel more. I have been to most of Asia, but have yet to travel to Europe (sad...). I hope to visit Ireland and Amsterdam next year (not for the obvious reasons).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an engineer. I work with robots to make the world a better place, or worst... Thinking of Skynet or Wall-E....? Nope... not that quite exciting or cute...

I spend some of my time with my dog, going hiking with him or taking him to the dog park.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have a witty/quirky sense of humor and I have no problem making fun of myself just so you can smile!

Sticking my tongue out in photos.

I'm a pretty random person, so conversations about random things.

Naming all the types of fish in "Finding Nemo"... no joke.

I'm mostly a neat person, so I'm good at cleaning and de-cluttering.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I appear younger than I look. I totally rock those "guess your age" games at fairs, but getting carded at movies can be a bit weird, especially after they realize how old I really am.

Oh, and some say I have a nice smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love good food and would consider myself a foodie. Some of my favorite would be Italian, Japanese, and Chinese.

My favorite movie is Labyrinth. Jim Henson, Muppets and David Bowie? What's not to love?

Other movies that I really like are: 500 Days of Summer, Love Actually, Butterfly Effect, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream, Dark City, Once, Nightmare Before Christmas, Inception, Trainspotting, and the list goes on.

Oh, almost forgot, Starship Troopers!! If you haven't seen it, do eeettt!

I really enjoy thought provoking movies, movies where at the end, you have to sit down and think, "what was the meaning of this/that?"

I used to watch anime, but I haven't found one that fancies me yet. Studio Ghibli movies will always appeal to me. If you have watched the older ones, extra points to you.

As far as music goes, I like pretty much anything, except country and some rap. A few of my favorite artists are Radiohead, Oasis, Tegan and Sara, Metric, Shiny Toy Guns, The Bird and the Bee, Florence + the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, Innerpartysystem, The Bravery, Muse, VAST and The Killers.

I listen to NPR quite often. Morning Edition news, Radiolab, All Things Considered, Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! and Car Talk, are among my favorite programs on there.

I read as much as I can. I had a Kindle Fire, but left it on a connecting flight, so now I'm back to paperbacks. I'm reading World War Z right now. My last read was Hunger Games and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (before I even knew there was a movie coming out).

I usually don't have time to watch a lot of TV. Shows I do like are: How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, American Horror Story, Firefly, Dexter, The Office, Doctor Who, Arrested Development, The Walking Dead, Mythbusters, Planet Earth and Blue Planet.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order,

-Family and friends
-Coffee or Tea, something warm...
-Traveling once a year
-My dog Cobie
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Ways to help animals and doing things to make a difference. I wish I could drop everything in my life and join the Sea Shepard.

Life. Where will it take me and how will I get there.

What would I do in a zombie apocalypse. Am I the tripper, or the trippee?

How old cartoons that I used to watch and love as a kid all of a sudden became so dumb once I re-watch it as an adult.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There's no typical Fridays for me. Sometimes I stay in and put in a movie or two, sometimes I go out with friends to dinner. What I do on weekends all depend on my mood.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a grammatical perfectionist. Nothing irks me more than someone who cannot tell the difference between "they're" and "their" or "there."

I'm a Star Wars fan?

Did I also mention I use "..." a lot?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You enjoy quirky and witty sense of humor. You read my profile and found things we have in common.

I am new in town, and I love "hole in the wall" places. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear it.

If you have seen, in entirety, the other 3 Starship Troopers movies. Seriously, I want to talk to someone who is sadistic enough to watch them all.

If you're a nerdy/geeky/dorky person.

If you eat brinners (breakfast foods for dinner). Cereal for dinner can be so good!

If you eat your eggs the way I do.

You have a dog yourself and would like to chat about the craziest thing your dog has ever done, or you like to refute that my dog Cobie is the best cuddler ever.
