First of all, my name is Mike and I'm history graduate that enjoys wit, reading, and conversation. I much rather prefer cold weather to hot, mostly because I like sweaters and scarves. If I were a hot dog and I was starving, I would not eat myself. A man has to have standards.

As one might guess from the history degree, I'm still looking for my ideal job but I'm also not sitting around doing nothing either. I suppose I just don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Not yet, anyway.

talking about random and/or crazy topics at the drop of a hat, finding new interesting things on the internet or in real life, exploring, trying new foods, and meeting people. Seriously, I love chatting with people and just learning fun new facts and stories.

It's usually one of three things: my glasses, my height, or my tattoo on my arm.

Books: The Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Germs Guns and Steel by Jared Diamond, Sherlock Holmes in general, and more soon to come.

Movies: Thank You For Smoking, Sunshine, Waking Life, Children of Men, Rush Hour (1, 2, AND 3), Gattaca, Serenity, Shaun of the Dead, Casablanca, and the Back to the Future trilogy.

TV Shows: Mystery Science Theater 3000, Pushing Daisies, Lost, Firefly, Jericho, Sherlock, Cowboy Bebop, Community, Adventure Time, the Daily Show, The Colbert Report, FLCL

Music: MAE, Ratatat, Pretty Lights, Quietdrive, The Hush Sound, Jack's Mannequin, Louis Armstrong, Hibria, Goo Goo Dolls, and, of course, Blink 182.

Food: I love anything and everything. I've been on a big Korean kick lately.

In no particular order:

1. My glasses. Things like driving and reading are important.
2. My phone. I admit that I have an awful sense of direction and having a device with GPS helps a lot.
3. The internet. The sheer amount of information at our fingertips is amazing. Well, that and the cat pictures.
4. My Kindle. Some people think that it's bad because real books are much better. While I agree to an extent, why can't ebooks and paper books coexist in peace?
5. Pajama pants. They're so comfortable!
6. Beer. It's not as classy or manly as whiskey but a good microbrew goes a long way to making any day a lot better.

I usually go on kicks but my interests include politics, history, science, reading, video games, and just pretty much anything. I love learning new things and I'm always willing to listen to something new.

Drinking is fun, blacking-out is not.

While I am not playing now, I love Dungeons and Dragons. Don't knock it til you've tried it.
