My self-summary
I'm here on OKC for the same reason as many of you . . . to find my best friend and partner for life. Yes, I have a great life now. I love my work, I love my family and friends, and I have hobbies, passions, and goals for the future. But I want to share it all with a man of strong character with a quick wit, kind soul, adventurous spirit, and dedication to family life. A willingness to kill spiders is a huge bonus.

I am not in search of perfection. We all have amazing qualities and some qualities that need a little work. Life can be really hard sometimes. People get sick, lose jobs, have fallouts with co-workers, are disappointed in the outcome of things . . . stuff happens. If you usually face all of that with a healthy mixture of strength, compassion, courage, some tears, and a lot of laughter, we're probably a great match.

I love kids, and am "Aunty" to all my friends' children. I always thought I'd have at least one of my own, and haven't ruled that out yet. However, I am not "40-something desperately seeking sperm." If it happens - wonderful. But being a stepmom, adopting, or finding out kids aren't in the cards are all okay, too.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Neonatal Intensive Care - I take care of tiny humans and their families. It's an honor to do it every day.

I do not bungee jump from helicopters or climb Mt. Everest every weekend. Nor do I want to learn to scale Half Dome. But I do love spending time with family and friends, taking long walks and hiking, camping, being on or near the water, singing, arts/crafts/ photography, volunteering, traveling, attending sporting events (enjoy football, baseball, and hockey - Sharks' season ticket holder), reading, watching movies and TV, researching genealogy, and am always open to trying new outdoor activities. I love board games - scrabble being a favorite. I would like to dust off my golf clubs this summer and start to play again.
I’m really good at
Having compassion and empathy for people.

The art of the well placed sarcastic comment.

Traveling alone abroad - I usually go somewhere spur of the moment and friends with kids cannot do that anymore. I am completely willing to let go of this skill and start traveling WITH someone!!
The first things people usually notice about me
I laugh a lot. Keep smiling . . . it makes people wonder what you're up to.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite book ever: A Prayer for Owen Meany

Favorite movies: Field of Dreams, Argo, Hunt for Red October, King's Speech, Stripes, American President, Dave, Sound of Music, Dead Poet's Society, Walk the Line, Pitch Perfect

Favorite shows: Big Bang Theory, Monday Mornings, West Wing, Homeland, Amazing Race, Burn Notice, Charmed (I'll tell you why if you want to know!)

Favorite music: I love music (except for "angry teenager music"). Right now I'm listening to the Nashville soundtrack a lot - not a huge country fan, but these songs are so haunting and powerful.

Favorite Musicals: Rent, Miss Saigon, Once on this Island, Wicked

Favorite foods: seafood, pizza, Trader Joe's peanut butter filled pretzels
The six things I could never do without
1. My camera - love photography
2. Google - remember looking things up in a card catalog? Shudder!
3. Being near the water and the mountains
4. Tivo
5. Cheese
6. Grace, forgiveness, love, friends/family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Social justice.
Finding my best friend and partner and building a life together.
Getting back to Haiti for another short term medical mission trip.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes out, sometimes in, but always unwinding from the week and resting up for the fun weekend ahead.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
For all of you who claim to have graduated from Space Camp . . . I was actually the Camp Nurse at Space Camp on Moffett Field for a few years, and I never saw any of you there!! :-)
