My self-summary
These things suck; they really do. They say almost nothing about the person, except for what they like. So do you subscribe to the 'High Fidelity' theory, where Rob believes 'it's not what you're like but *what* you like' or do you believe that what's inside the person really matters (and I'm not just talking guts and viscera)? I'm for both.

33 (thank you, Mila). Male. Singing teacher/IT Consultant/Freelance Editor. Loves music. A book or two. Movies. TV Series (but not watching TV). Enjoys heading out to gigs, the occasional party, having a quiet drink and just doing something different every day, if I can. I've got an excellent sense of humour. No, really.

I'm also trying to finish that one novel. You know which one; the one that keeps expanding but never gets finished and eventually gets pushed way to the back of the drawer (and the damn thing wedges shut when you least expect it. Shame).

STATS: As of today, I've met four wonderful people and two 'orrible persons off of here. Still pretty good odds so far, so keep it up people.
What I’m doing with my life
Poppa was a rollin' stone.
Wherever he lay his hat was his home
and, when he died, all he left us was alone.
I’m really good at
making milkshakes that bring all the boys to the yard.

No, I'm actually a really good listener. Using my imagination comes a close second.
The first things people usually notice about me
is my face. Specifically, my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Give me something different, something out there; a little dangerous, a little subtle, a little lewd.

Books. Lots. Sampler: Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Raymond E Feist, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, Christopher Hitchens, Chuck Palahniuk, Raymond Chandler, Kurt Vonnegut, Cormack McCarthy (Fuck me, 'The Road' was a bleak but rewarding read).

If you're a biped you should read 'Good Omens'. Tripeds should read 'Slaughterhouse Five'.

True Blood. Dexter. Justified. Mad Men. Deadwood. Chuck. The Mighty Boosh. Black Books. Spaced. Jonathan Creek. Bored to Death. Entourage. Arrested Development. Rome. Game of Thrones (or Boobs, depending on the episode). Sex and the... ah, no.

Brazil. 12 Monkeys. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Hot Fuzz. Fight Club. Scarface. The Big Lebowski. Children of Men. The Goonies. Labyrinth. Swingers. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Miley Cyr.... ah, no.

Points if you can name the movie this song lyric is from (and it's a cover):
'Got balls of steel, got an automobile
for a winimum wage.'

Music makes me who I am - I accept no substitutes. I also support local music.
Tool. No, really, TOOL. A Perfect Circle. Faith No More. Radiohead. Something For Kate. Shihad. Bon Iver. Sevendust. Deftones. Beirut. The Brothers Grim. Ennis Tola. Anna Salen. The Nymphs. NiN. Jebediah. Pearl Jam. AIC. And songs about ponies.
The six things I could never do without
A good book
A quality conversation
My vocal cords
My bed
My two hands
Imagination.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Are you such a dreamer
To put the world to rights
I'll stay home forever
Where two and two always makes a five
I'll lay down the tracks
Sandbag and hide
January has April showers
And two and two always makes a five
It's the devil's way now
There is no way out
You can scream and you can shout
It is too late now
Because you're not there
Payin' attention x4
yeah I feel it, I needed attention
Payin' attention x3
Yeah I need it, I needed attention
I needed attention x3
Yeah I love it, the attention
Payin' attention x2
Payin' ah-ten-shun.

I try to sing along
But the music's all wrong
Cos I'm not
Cos I'm not
I'll swallow up flies
But like flies the bugs keep coming back
God
But I'm not
Oh hail 2-3-4
hail to the thief
But I'm not x 4
Don't question my authority or put me in a box
Cos I'm not
Cos I'm not
Oh go up to the king, and the sky is falling in
But it's not
But it's not
Maybe not
Maybe not
On a typical Friday night I am
dancing through the outer rings of Saturn. Neptune is never an option.

When I can't get my teleportation machine to work, I'm at a gig, watching a movie or spending quality time with friends (and some of my friends are books). If I'm at a bar, it's Polly for preference and a 'Light My Fire' for favourite incendiary beverage.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That time I started singing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with my mate in Safeway. We got a round of applause at the end (I'm fairly confident that was for the performance and not because we'd finally stopped).
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–36
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
- You have a sense of humour.
- You have an imagination.
- You're looking for something different.
- You want kids in the future but aren't going to tank a potentially good relationship because I don't want them right now (this shouldn't even come up until we've had a few dates, but it has in the past, so go figure). Once I get to know you and we click - giddy-up.
