KEEPING IT REAL…
A quote from someone on here recently: "53? Are you f***ing kidding me!?!? You look better then over half the girls in their 20's and 30's." :-)
If you're not in my league and don't look/aren't ~10-20 years younger than my chronological age, please don't send me a message, unless it's just a compliment such as the one above.
Here’s what I've gotten from online dating over the past several years: 1) guys just wanting to get off from pics and chat (no thank you!), 2) guys who communicate for a while but never actually meet me (waste of time), and/or 3) guys like the last one who meet me and are very impressed only to drop off the face of the earth without a word of explanation after two dates (WTF?!). That necessitates my explaining exactly what my expectations are.
FIRST: What's this pervasive problem men have with someone not having financial security and experiencing job problems? You do realize that says something about YOU, not ME, right? So, if you're not a 'bleeding heart' type, you're most definitely not my type. SECOND: American society has a real problem with age discrimination, especially against women. I’m not even in most guys searches anymore! Yet I look ~10-20 years younger than my age, so guys in my age range rarely stand a chance (the whole 'keeping it real' thing). LAST, BUT NOT LEAST: If you’re interested and in my league, read my entire profile. ONLY CONTACT ME IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN DATING (or else if you'd just like to say something nice, OR if you have a viable suggestion for how I can meet my kind of guy other than internet dating, book clubs, dancing, etc.).
I am extremely picky, and I have a right to be. Age is not equal to attractiveness - at all!! I look no worse in person than in my profile pictures (almost every guy has told me I look better). People who consider me “shallow” are just hypocrites – everyone is drawn to good looks! So if your appearance doesn’t do it for me, your profile pics and/or in person, don’t take it personally. Two additional essentials: attraction/chemistry and experience/skill (and not with your tongue). To get an idea of my ultimate dream man, that’d be Benedict Cumberbatch. I am particularly attracted to sexy, 'pretty,' and confident guys with tall thin frames and prominent cheekbones. I should also add that if you’re Middle Eastern – particularly Israeli/Jewish – there’s a high percentage of attraction if you fit the tall/thin part… Although all foreigners in general tend to impress me. I also like nice teeth, some chest hair, and it always helps if there's nice 'equipment' below the belt.
If you’re not available on weekends because you prefer to go out on the prowl with your friends instead, never mind. And most importantly, NO FWB [which is really just B for benefits/FB for f*** buddies] or NSA [not the government surveillance, though I can’t stand that either]! I'm focused on finding a long-term boyfriend who is also very focused on me, into regular contact and hopefully fairly regular weekend visits – at his place (either living alone or at least with great privacy, as in non-adjoining bedrooms). Also, said interested guy should either be within quick and easy driving distance in the general Rockville area or in the best city on the east coast – DC! - or NoVA, near a metro station.
DISLIKES: Though there’s no category here for dislikes – what’s up with OKCupid? – it’s helpful to list some of mine... Excess weight, bad/large tattoos, and goatees/mustaches/long beards (a little overall facial hair that’s regularly maintained is fine). I can't 'work with' a man who is inexperienced/passive or really into tongue kissing (or tongue-anything else, really). I’m not at all a phone person, though I absolutely love to email and text. I also dislike beer myself (though that can be your drink of choice) and red meat (though you can eat it as long as I don’t have to be close to it). One last strong dislike: American football, which is sadly here.
If you're still with me, my personality in a nutshell: I’m not on facebook (Twitter’s way better), and I do my small part to be active for whistleblowers and against big money/WallStreet. If you’re an Anon/Occupy type, huge plus right off the bat. I have a strong sense of compassion for the helpless and defenseless (the poor, animals, children), depth and intelligence, admiration for other cultures, an appreciation of sci-fi, an all-encompassing non-judgmental worldview, and a love of adventure and trying new things.
