I'm into exploring, meeting new people and enjoying good friends. I
ride the El so much that sometimes I have to remind myself I'm not
homeless by looking at my keys.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a researcher with a labor union. I learn more than I'd
like to know about corporate America and try to use that knowledge
to beat companies denying wages, benefits and respect to workers.
I’m really good at
Walking/crossing the line between funny and offensive
Words with friends with strangers
Burying metal objects that say get a life
Exploring, hiking, camping, backpacking, getting lost, getting
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure, I'm not "people."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I enjoy going to random shows and discovering new artists who are
just as good if not better than popular ones. Recent finds include
the Besnard Lakes, Plants and Animals, Elliott Brood and the Dum
Comedians are awesome. They have a rare license to tell the truth
in our politically-correct, stifled society. Jon Stewart, Stephen
Colbert, Bill Maher, Louis CK.
It's hard to beat a good beer and a good burger. Actually, I guess
you could do that with a better beer and a better burger.
The six things I could never do without
Ventra (hate that it switched from the chicago card, though)
Good local beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why it's fashionable for guys to wear something that chokes them,
why people who are "pro-life" are usually for the death penalty,
what substance some disheveled person on the el is under the
influence of, why you're not supposed to end a sentence with a
preposition, whether the gas company is ever going to send me a
bill, why it's 50 degrees one day and 20 the next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging with friends, trying a new restaurant, sleeping, riding the
El at 4am, watching youtube clips of old comedians like George
Carlin, augmenting my music collection, wondering why I use words
like augment, reading, makings lists.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Somehow, I didn't wear jeans until sophomore year in college. Still
not sure how that happened.
You should message me if
You think crunchy peanut butter is always better than creamy. Or if
you think we need a revolution. I guess there's other reasons too
but those seem to cover the most important things.
