My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Over the last year I earned myself the nickname "puppy". I think this from a combination of being generally happy, curious, motivated and awake at unnecessarily early hours of the morning. I love the name and do what I can to live up to it. I just finished a masters in Marine and Freshwater Ecology and Environmental Management in Glasgow. Coming back to Cali has been a trip so far and I'm really looking forward to exploring this area as an adult.

I love dichotomies in people. One of my fav's was my tattooed gutter punk field biologist friend who loved musicals. I guess thats not a true dichotomy, but he always kept me guessing and its a level of awesome that I try to always strive for in my life. The closest I've come lately is watching movies about the history of punk while knitting and drinking whiskey. It's nothing radical, but I still love my life.

I will admit that i'm a bit of a nerd. Not the unkempt pedantic kinda, but the board game playing and always learning kind. I love talking about peoples passions whether its their gin selection, juggling geese or chinese astrology. I'm a bit of a foodie and a beer snob as well. I'm going dry for Jan and maybe into Feb as well, but I'm looking forward to exploring all the breweries in SF this spring along withe everything else the bay has to offer. This is my bucket list blog. It needs a lot of work, but hopefully I can get many of these items checked off! http://50of2013.blogspot.com/2013/01/it-begins.html

Well enough about that... Settlers anyone?

I'm never quite sure what to say here as my tastes change so often. My heart belongs to punk rock however my iTune says my top played artists are: The Notwist, The Postal Service, NOFX, Flogging Molly, Cake, Ozma, Aimee Mann, Katy Perry, Sia, Ella Fitzgerald, Everclear, Jawbreaker, Amy Winehouse, Visqueen, James Brown, Tool, Blockhead, Incubus.

I mostly read sci fi or history of science books, but I'll enjoy any book that makes me go, huh? I love most of Azimovs work and would like to read Vonneguts catalogue. Other fav work are Flowers for Algernon, World War Z and The Reader.

I just got Netflix and I'm trying not to get sucked down that rabbit hole, however my latest guilty pleasures are: Sherlock, Dr Who, Twin Peaks, IT Crowd, Futurama, West Wing, X-files, Big Bang theory, Invader Zim, Archer... so many more...

What beer I'm going to brew next. I mean as much as I LOVE a good IPA they are just do darn ubiquitous here in Cali that there seems little point to making one. Its hard to find a good kolsch tho and I've only once ever seen an ESB.

I've been getting into fitness recently, so I like to plan new running routes and hikes and such. Id love some suggestions!

Places to explore in the Bay. I love hole in the wall restaurants, street art, old buildings, dive bars etc. I still have almost no experience with the night life in SF. :/

What to watch on Neftlix next. I just finished Downton Abbey and Sherlock and I'm going back and forth between West Wing, the Walking Dead, Red Dwarf and Twin Peaks.
