My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you define me, you limit me. Really I just find it a little awkward writing an introduction to myself. So short summary: I'm a laid-back NPR addict looking for new experiences in life and to meet a wide variety of people. I'm a little dorky and a little awkward, but I've been told that makes me adorable. I'm looking for anyone who's interested in just hanging out and being friends to someone that I could potentially have a long term relationship with. I just like to let things go with the flow when it comes to dating. Here's my obligatory list of likes and dislikes:

Lazy afternoons with a book and a glass of wine
Edward Gorey and Maurice Sendak
Dorking out on hikes with field guides
Making awesome finds on craigslist
Used bookstores and used record stores (for CDs! Because I still buy those)

Songs with stupid lyrics or lyrics that don't make sense
Along the same lines, commercials that don't make sense
Hash tags
The movie Titanic (they take WAY too long to die)
The phrase "The Great Recession," and the fact that my phone autocorrected that phrase to be capitalized

If any of this hits home with you shoot me a message :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working my ass off while working and going to school full time. Trying to figure out it all out beyond work and school. As a side note, I work with animals so if I'm covered with scratches its not because I'm a cutter, its because kittens have sharp nails
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've been told that I really know how to chill
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Books: When I was a kid I was never without a book, but I've fallen out of the habit of reading over the years. I'm trying to fix that. Books that I've read recently that I've enjoyed are: House of Leaves, Lolita, The Ocean at the End of the Lane. I've also been reading some Ray Bradbury short stories, and I dig it

Movies: I'm not a big movie watcher, but I'm always interested in finding something new (to me) and good. Favorite movie is a tie between Best in Show and The Shining. Also, Pixar

Shows: Seinfeld, Arrested Development (although not a huge fan of the new season), Flight of the Conchords, Parks and Rec, Summer Heights High, Trailer Park Boys, Peep Show, The Office (but only before Michael left), Downton Abbey, Battlestar Galactica, Party Down

Anime: Haibane Renmei, Mononoke (not to be confused with Princess Mononoke, which I also like, along with anything else Miyazaki), Maison Ikkoku, Monster, Serial Experiments Lain, Paprika, currently making my way through Texhnolyze

Music: The Decemberists, Belle and Sebastian, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Sufjan Stevens, Neutral Milk Hotel. Always looking for new recommendations. I used to be a music major, so I can talk somewhat intelligently about classical music (Favorite composer: Mahler)

Podcasts: This American Life, 99% Invisible, Radiolab, most recently Serial!!

Food: I'm a pretty adventurous eater considering I'm a vegan. I'll try anything I can, and if what you're eating looks good I'll make you tell me about it. I wish I was a wine and beer nerd, but I haven't really gotten there. Hard alcohol of choice: gin, although I've been getting into whiskey more recently
