My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi. I'm Beau. Here's a few things about myself: ....i like to cook, read, play guitar and try to sing (Yikes!)... I've been to to Dharma Punx a few times and hope to go more... I've been trying (semi-successfully) to keep my plants alive, write (autobiographical statements at the moment), watch movies, lots of movies and documentaries though I'm a harsh critic.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
In a program at Columbia,/Middle Eastern Studies -- acting like i come from money...;)

I'm actually taking an online Nutrition course and reading this humongous text book (this is old), but my favorite real book is probably Homage to Catalonia (George Orwell's heroic personal account of fighting alongside the revolutionary partisans in Spain to defeat fascism during the Spanish civil war. It's amazing!). I recently read a book by an American Buddhist nun by the name of Pema Chodron and it's starting to change my life!... But here's some other recent reads: The Great War For Civilization, The Spanish Anarchists, The Essential Bakunin, anything Chomsky, anything Dawkins, Foucault (Discipline and Punish), Pre 9-11 Christopher Hitchen's (and when he goes after religion..."God is Not Great" Ha!...), Peter Singer's Animal Liberation
Shows: Seinfeld, Daily show, Colbert Report, Curb your Enthusiasm..
Movies: Usual Suspects, Goodfellas, When we were Kings, Paradise Lost: Story of the West Memphis Three, Manufacturing Consent... and What about Bob? because it's the funniest movie ever made...
Food: Unlimited Spring Rolls at Araya's Vegetarian Thai Buffet!!! (If you're ever in Seattle, check em' out)...I made my own sweet potato fries the other night and they were pretty fucking amazing!.
Music: Folk: Woody Guthrie, Ledbelly, old Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Gordon Lightfoot, Steve Earl, Simon and Garfunkle
Punk: Tragedy, Born Against, Dystopia, Avail, Axiom, Conflict, FIFTEEN, Resist, Dead Moon, Cock Sparrer, Angelic Upstarts, Cockney Rejects, Last Resort, Blitz,
Metal: At The Gates, Wolves in the Throne Room, Carcass, Dark Throne, Bathory, Emperor, Motorhead, Cattle Decap
Hiphop: Immortal Technique, The Coup, Common Market, GZA, A Tribe Called Quest
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good food, good book, sleep, kombucha, fast music and loving relationships...though the best things in life aren't things, needless to say (i hope)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

-the anthropic principal (sorry, I'm reading the God Delusion right now)
-my brother
