I'm a bit of a nerd. I like talking, and I'm learning to become a
good listener. I like to debate, not in an angry, fighty way, but i
see it as the main way people form their opinions-and that goes
both ways. I have as much (a lot more, actually) to learn from
others as others have to learn from me, and I like learning. I'm a
I've been doing political stuff for four years now, and I really
like what I do. You meet a lot of fun and interesting people on the
job, and have some amazing relationships with volunteers and people
you work with. I want to keep working at my current gig till the
end of 2015, before getting into consulting and possibly getting a
law degree. My ultimate goal is to work in the White House, which
is an immensely lofty ambition but hey, that's what goals are for,

What I’m doing with my life
See above. I got out of a relationship pretty recently, so I'm
trying to regain my bearings in the brave yet now weirdly familiar
world of online dating.
I try to keep my interests diverse, and enjoy talking about movies,
music, games, and a whole hell of a lot of stuff. I try to find the
interesting in everything I encounter. I can usually find it
I’m really good at
Talking, making people laugh, coming up with good ideas, coming up
with bad ideas (I will not confirm or deny which ones I have the
most of). I like trying to find the big picture of something, and
how the parts of that big picture interact with the other parts.
I'm fascinated with how people act, which is probably why I'm a
political science major.
I hope to never lose the capacity to be surprised.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height. I'm super-tall. Aside from that, people (myself
included, as some have pointed out) seem to like the sound of my
voice. I got some serious sibilance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite books tend to be "the books I read most recently". The two most recent books I read were "The Invisible Bridge" by Rick Perlstein and "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by the inimitable Philip K. Dick.
I prefer non-fiction, but I can dig fiction if it's science fiction (love Robert A. Heinlein's stuff) or has a good amount of humor (I like Terry Pratchett a lot). Also, George R.R. Martin is God, or is so close to it it doesn't matter.
The last 3 movies I saw in a theatre were "Trainwreck", "Straight Outta Compton", and " Spectre". Liked Trainwreck, loved Compton, found Spectre disappointing. I'd say my favorite movie is either "Pulp Fiction" or "The Godfather".
I love music and rock history. The only two genres I'd say I categorically hate are Mexican country (yes, it is a distinct genre) and techno. My 3 favorite bands are the Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, and Talking Heads. My favorite solo artist is the one and only Kanye West.
I also like a lot of bands from the Oughts, like Franz Ferdinand, the Strokes, the White Stripes, the Black Keys, the Fratellis, Miike Snow...I like a lot of music.
Spotify is the best.
The six things I could never do without
I'm tempted to list six vital organs here, but I don't want to be
my cell phone
note that these are six "things". if it were six "people", i'd
probably have to do some editing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A *lot* of stuff. I'm a thoughtful person who's able to cover a lot
of distance upstairs. You'd think it'd be nice, but it really means
that I worry too much. I'm working on it, though.
On a typical Friday night I am
Giving a fuck about an Oxford comma.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't like to put random private information out there, but if
you ask me a question I'll answer honestly to the extent that our
relationship and my comfort level permits.
You should message me if
You're a girl that wants to meet a guy who is interesting, has a
good sense of humor and treats others with respect and courtesy.
Also message me if you think I'm cute.
I crush on any woman with a penchant for history and gunpowder in
Check out my match questions (they're pretty detailed, which I feel
is necessary because a lot of the questions are too general).
