I'm restarting life, in a way. There are a lot of things and ways that I "have been" and I'm trying to figure out who I am now. So far, I like music (especially classical and a Capella), I still like to paint and read, and I want to learn how to dance. Like, swing or something coupley and fun, so that when I go to a jazz show (for example) I can actually dance.

I don't usually introduce myself this way, but I figure online it's better to be up-front about this, saves awkward conversations later: I am a trans man. I started hormones about 4 years ago. I'm not going to give you a "Trans 101", but if you're interested in me as a person and have questions about this aspect of me, just ask.

Exploring. I'm trying to look at life differently than I have before. I want to learn how to garden, cook, and waltz, and I want to learn more about herbal medicine. I'm learning to think differently, express myself more clearly, set better boundaries. I work at a discount grocery store part time, money isn't really important to me as long as I have a roof over my head and food to eat (being able to do fun stuff is great too!). I'm enjoying having the extra time to explore other things besides working.

Well, I'm not really good at thinking of what I'm really good at. I enjoy singing, listening, organizing, walking backwards, talking to cats, drinking smoothies, being outside when it's not freezing, trying something new even when I'm really really bad at it, and talking and laughing about the metaphysical.

I'm going to guess my smile or my laugh, because one of those tends to be on me most of the time.

Books - I tend to hit the comedy/humor, "new age", and sociology/psychology/cultural studies sections of any bookstore I enter. One of my favorite childhood books was The Missing Piece by Shel Silverstein. Also The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series. (Ok, my friends pointed out that I should actually say that I'm obsessed with LotR, but I think obsessed is a strong word...)
Movies - Comedies. I like morbid but funny - so anything by Tim Burton. And Monty Python. Fantasy of the LotR-type. I don't watch a lot of TV.
Music - Yes. There are very few styles of music I don't like. Listening to right now: cheezy old 80/90s pop songs, Johnny Cash, celtic, folk, and classical music, Rising Appalachia... I'm learning to appreciate electronic music, but I can't say I like it yet.
Food - I'm a picky eater who's willing to try anything once. And if I like it, I'll try it again!

Why people do and think and react the way they do. It's kind of my other obsession, it just fascinates me.

I'm not big on going out and partying, I've done the bar scene and I'm over it, although it's fun on the rare occasion. I kind of like to let my free time go where it wants. Which could mean going downtown to the drum circle, or staying at home with a movie, or spending the day hiking/wandering in the mountains. I'm up for trying anything. (And I'm kind of a homebody to tell you the truth, I think my idea of what I like to do is bigger than what I actually do)

I like musicals.
Oh yeah and the being-trans thing. I generally keep that pretty private.
