My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I don't have a clue how I am even going to begin summarizing myself, but I'll give it a try. I'm an athletic nerd who like going out with friends just as much as I like staying in. I am mellow and easy going, but in a competition I will do everything I can short of cheating to annihilate the person I'm playing against. I am a cool (just take my word for it), smart, educated, sarcastic, caring, and outgoing(-ish). I have a great set of friends and a small but entertaining family. I like beer and whiskey the most. I like to read, go camping, run, go to the movies, travel, talk to interesting people, listen to music, and eat good food. I also say funny things on occasion.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I am working in advertising managing a team of cool people who do a good job of putting up with my wise cracks and lame jokes. When I'm not working I am reading, running, cooking dinner, grabbing a drink, trying to win at pub trivia, making travel plans, attempting to teach myself to play piano, relaxing, searching out good food, talking a little too excitedly about Game of Thrones, or just hanging out with friends.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Procrastinating. I've got that whole walking thing mastered. Spelling. Being unable to answer these questions seriously. Cooking. Reading. Uhhh...PowerPoint? Excel. Yeah, Excel. I'm really good at that and totally unashamed of it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have never taken a survey of the people I meet to know how to answer this, nor are they forthcoming about it. If we meet, we can exchange the first thing we notice about one another. Deal?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

This is a really tough question to answer, but here is a sampling.

I like to read and I like to try and read a wide variety of subjects. Right now I am reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, Blink by Malcom Gladwell, Jane Eyre, and Cooked by Michael Pollan. I will take a break from all of those when The Magician's Land comes out or if George R.R. Martin ever finishes the next A Song of Ice and Fire novel.

Movies: Anything Bill Murray, Short Term 12, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Sword of Doom, Bob le Flambeur, Manhattan, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Anchorman, The Big Lebowski, Charade, Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Ip Man, Zombieland, Wayne's World, and so many more.

Shows: White Collar, Grimm, The Mentalist, Community, Archer, The Walking Dead, New Girl, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, South Park, Game of Thrones, Cosmos, Dexter, Futurama, The Venture Bros., Luther (John Luther might be the ultimate badass), Sherlock, The Newsroom, Downton Abbey (I still haven't figured out why this show is interesting, but it is), The Blacklist, Almost Human, Rubicon (I wish there had been more than one season).

Lately I've been listening to Alt-J on repeat. Older favorites include The Black Keys, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, David Bowie, Elton John, Gorillaz, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Lumineers, Jack White, Alabama Shakes, Piebald, Queen, Tom Waits, Daft Punk, Little Hurricane, Minus the Bear, The Royalty, Wolfmother.

Food: I love food. Except mushrooms. I am irrationally grossed out by mushrooms. The gills under the crown freak me out for some reason. I don't trust them.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order: Books, Family/Friends, really good food, a pair of running shoes, Music, whiskey.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'm doing with my life. That and food. Actually I probably think about food more than anything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Comatose from a long work week. Managing people can be draining. If I'm not passed out on my couch, I'm out with friends grabbing dinner, drinks, and/or watching some live music. Or reading, watching netflix or catching up on the shows I DVR'd but couldn't get to during the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My dog outsmarted me one time. It is funny to think about now. Let's just say he is a little con artist and a thief. I was really enjoying that croissant...
