My self-summary
Hi, my name is Duncan. I use he/him or they/them pronouns. I'm still really new on here so parts of my profile (including this one) will be filling in more sometime soon. In the meantime I'll try to figure out how to summarize myself nicely and concisely into this little white box (or contemplating whether just quoting "Writing a Resume" by Wisława Szymborska here would be relevant/not cheating).
Born and raised for the most part in San Francisco, with short periods staying in LA, the past two years in Reno, and now I'm in Amherst for school but make frequent visits to all the other places listed when I can (so if you're in one of those places and see me as having visited your profile that would be why).
Queer in general, but currently primarily interested in male-identified folks for now (often of the beardy, chubby, hairy variety admittedly) but of course this isn't a strict necessity or anything.
I find myself to be assorted ways of Queer and Mixed in many different aspects of my life.
If you are curious about poly things, or have never really thought about poly things but might be interested in the possibility, just ask me about them!
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I'm taking a year off from school, working on transferring for next Fall and in the process of starting up with some internships in NYC for the rest of my time off.
I’m really good at
Cuddling, hugging, listening, being supportive when it's needed, and reflecting on things. I've been playing (classical) piano since I was around seven years old, so I hold that really closely as something I like to do, even though I haven't had enough time to practice nearly as much as I should. I also take my academic pursuits as something I do because I like to, so reading, writing, learning languages, and researching are things that I like to think I'm good at, or at least things that I'm constantly working to get better at.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm pretty tall, I'm generally pretty nice/friendly, and I can be really quiet sometimes. How I smile a lot when I'm talking to people. I have also had a fair amount of people get quite excited by the fluffiness of my hair. I also get a lot of compliments on my butt, so I guess that seems to come to attention at some point too.

The six things I could never do without
Friends
Books
Art (in the broad sense, not restricted to visual art)
Curiosity
Interdisciplinarity
(Com)passion
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My friends, my family, mi Lalito (eddington18), Philosophy, Critical Theory, Queer Theory, Gender Theory, Neuroscience, Biology, Neurophilosophy, Continental Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, Feminism(s), Cultural Production, Literature, Music, Theater, Film, Creative Writing, Race, Mixed Heritage/Mixed Race, Social Justice, Social Change, Languages, Food, queering things, Neoliberalism, comforting others and myself, the people I'm attracted to, the people I'm inspired by, my identity, how I could continue to grow as a person, the things I want to do, the essays I should probably be doing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, working on homework, procrastinating on homework, chatting with someone online, or whatever else gets planned for that night (either by me or the people I'm with).

Possibly on my tumblr which is: http://halfhauntings.tumblr.com/
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm currently exploring polyamory and figuring out how that works to still feel comfortable and good/ok for everyone involved. I also have an addiction to buying used books. And I really like corgis.

For anything else you're curious about, just ask?
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 18–30
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
You want to talk? I try to respond to everything that comes my way, but I should probably add the disclaimer that as I get busy sometimes the quick "Hey, what's up?" that don't have much more brought up to talk about can sometimes slip through. And don't take it personally as a judgement if you send me a message and don't get a response back for a little while, in all likelihood I just got busy for an extended period of time and forgot about it for a bit and will respond it to it eventually.
