I've just moved to Redwood City after thirteen years in Santa Cruz and a summer in Europe. I don't know many people in the area yet, so if you think we'd connect as friends, feel free to say hi!
I am an outgoing, well-rounded tech guy (yes, we do exist!), which is to say I work with computers, and I can make them do what I want (generally, within reason), but I'm happiest when the computer is away and I'm doing stuff with other people. I'm an aspiring wine snob, and want to learn how to make it; "winemaker" sounds like an awesome retirement job. I work in Redwood City. I love going to concerts, theater, musicals and other live shows. I also enjoy movies, TV (in moderation), and books. I cook, play the piano, and sometimes try to sing. But what I love most is travel. I lived in Melbourne, Australia for two years and graduated with my BS from a university there. I've lived on the east coast, west coast, and in the midwest. I've been to Europe three times, but only to eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, and Moldova) where I had friends. In March of '11, I went to India for a friend's wedding (and I can't even describe how excited I was to dust off my passport). I've got a list of places I'd like to live for 6-24 months before I die, including: New Zealand, an island in the south pacific, France, Italy, a Greek isle, Scandinavia, Hawaii, Australia (gotta go back so I can actually see the country, not just my homework), Switzerland, somewhere in South America, and on and on.
I tend to be gregarious, and enjoy the company of good friends. And even though I can be loud and the "life of the party", in general my life is pretty laid back. My best friend, and former housemate of 6 years, says she doesn't know anyone more chill. But she's kinda high strung so may not be the best judge. In any case, I believe in open and honest communication, and I'm a good listener (as long as you don't trigger my selective hearing by asking me to take the trash out or something like that ;).
