My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I hit stuff.

27 yo Phd student, drummer, full-time blabbermouth and energizer bunny. Other than that research-project-that-shall-not-be-mentioned-from-now-on, my life consists mostly of playing drums and listening to music (jazz, funk, ska, metal, weird blues stuff, garage rock, psychedelic hardrock and reggae, but basically everything other than techno and schlager - yes, also classical). When I'm not researching, teaching or playing, I spend my time cooking Italian and Indian food and discussing politics with friends over some good beers. I love weird, quirky, unique and opinionated people (yes, that means you! *uncle Sam gesture*) and heated discussions. Oh, and I have a weird (some would say, horribly bad) sense of humor.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to find an impossible balance between doing research, making music, making food and having something of a social life. I haven't yet had a nervous breakdown so it seems to be working - somewhat.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking. I do it a lot.

Hitting stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Beard and tattoos, apparently
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music: Gee, where to start. How about, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Queens of the Stone Age, James Brown, George Clinton, Meshuggah, Frank Zappa, The Mars Volta, Kaizers Orchestra, Otis Redding, Clutch, Donny Hathaway, Bob Marley, Groundation, Arctic Monkeys, Led Zeppelin, Amon Tobin, Jack White, Eels, The Black Keys, John Zorn, Devin Townsend, Squarepusher, Tom Waits and basically everything in between.

Books: lots of non-fiction, everything related to history, philosophy and political sciences, but I enjoy the odd novel as well. Currently engrossed in a book on Napoleon and the French Revolution. I've got a weakness for Swedish detective novels.

TV: mostly series nowadays, I've sort of joined the hordes of Netflix addicts, I guess. That means True Detective, GoT, Fargo, Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, Luther, The Walking Dead, and documentaries from Louis Theroux and Alex Gibney to David Attenborough nature films.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My drum kit
- My book shelf (with books, duh)
- My creuset pan
- An ipod, iphone, mp3 player or otherwise portable music device
- Coffee

And yes, of course, also my friends and fellow musicians.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the universe and everything? Really, what's sort of question is this...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out jamming, watching Hannibal or hanging out at Café Ledig Erf
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I dance through my house like an idiot when I'm home alone. Wasn't much of a problem when I live on the 20th floor, but now I've got nosey neighbours across the street it starts to get weird.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You've got something interesting to say, especially about art (in all its forms, but most of all music), philosophy, politics, or whatever gets you passionated. I'm open to anything.

However, if you're a misogynist, homophobe, racist or otherwise bigoted ass coming to lay down your sense of superiority, don't bother messaging me. It'd be a waste of good bytes.
