What I’m doing with my life
I'm in the process of moving towards a second career in food
activism/raw nutrition. Up until (and including) now, I've been
shilling goods to the masses as a retail manager but it's tough to
find balance in that when you're not much of a consumer yourself.
There's too much stuff in our world. We're not any happier or
healthier for it. Maybe it's time to find a better way.
I’m really good at
helping people see the potential in things.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my height or that I'm pretty quiet.
So, if tall crazy extrovert is your thing... you should probably
keep looking. She's out there but I'm not that girl.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Music: The Spill Canvas, Everlast, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd,
Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Cake, The Fray, Lifehouse, Counting
Crows,Idaho, Kid Rock, Steve Miller Band, The Black Crowes, Bob
Marley, The Doors, Shaggy, Tool, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynrd, Neil
Young, Pearl Jam, The Police, Santana, Sarah McLachlan, The Sex
Pistols, Staind, Stone Temple Pilots, The Tragically Hip, The
Watchmen, Tom Petty, The Arctic Monkeys, Sublime, Green Day, A
Silver Mt. Zion, Beck, Bright Eyes, Death Cab For Cutie, David

Bruce Cockburn, Etta James, Gnarls Barkley, Kim Mitchell, John
Coltrane, Prince, Lyle Lovett, Matisyahu, Queen, Van Morrison, The
Mars Volta, Aimee Mann, The Cowboy Junkies - Defintely not a
definitive list either but most are in pretty regular rotation in
my Itunes list. I'm also a big fan of world music.
Books: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Anything by
Steinbeck or Dickens and I'm grateful to Stephen King for hours of
fun.
The last few years it's been mostly Non Fiction for me. If I had to
recommend one book I'd suggest The Food Revolution: How Your Diet
Can Help Save Your Life and Our World
by John Robbins.
Movies: I mostly watch documentaries, but have had a few
favourites; The Big Chill, Rocky Horror Picture Show, What the
Bleep Do We Know, Zeitgeist, Earthlings, Labyrinth, The Wizard of
Oz, Pink Floyd's The Wall, Network, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of
the Spotless Mind, Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly.
Food: My favourite food is cherries and my favourite meal is a
green smoothie or a really great salad.
The six things I could never do without
There's probably not much I couldn't adapt to. But food and water
are at the top of the list for necessities.
I like having my macbook, my friends, my family and my dog also but
none are essential to life. ( Well, maybe my dog. ;) )
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The cosmos, the food supply, the possibility of parallel
dimensions, how to grow my own food in my all too shady backyard
and just how badly I tend to procrastinate.
On a typical Friday night I am
at home listening to music while learning about something new or
creating something new.
You should message me if
you want to?
