My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Atheist feminist progressive science-loving geek.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living with the folks and doing volunteer work, whilst shooting job applications into the ether hoping in vain that somebody notices. I spend my free time (of which I have abundant amounts) pursuing the seemingly endless chain of things that interest me and constantly learning new things: about myself, other people, and this simultaneously wondrous and depressing world we live in.

I tried the college thing twice -- once for art, and once for science -- and, both times, failed to make it through all four years. The difficult-to-escape conclusion is that I shouldn't go back unless I have an overwhelmingly good reason.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
writing, art, critical thinking, being honest, offbeat humor, learning new things, befriending non-humans, amusing little kids, and lots more.

I'm moderately good at gardening, cooking, video games, translating Japanese into English, toying with computers, and singing.

I'm really bad at DDR and anything involving numbers.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Assuming first-level needs are already accounted for...

1) Family & friends
2) A nice planet to live on
3) Intellectual stimulation
4) Integrity
5) Empathy
6) A safe haven
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...what shapes each individual person and why people think and believe what they do.
...how humans can curb their destructive tendencies and sustain a clean, species-diverse biosphere for themselves and all other life.
...social trends and institutions that encourage sociopathic behavior that defies everything about our cooperative, empathic social primate roots.
...why the world seems to run on "bullshit" (artifice, deception, etc.) and lies instead of integrity and honesty.
...why "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"-type thinking so perniciously persists.
...why education seems to promote short-term memorization over long-term intuitive understanding.
...what my place in this world is and how I'm going to get there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
enjoying time by myself or with family. Or with the bird. Never forget the bird.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm professionally diagnosed with (and being treated for) Asperger's Syndrome, depression, and anxiety. If you don't think you could deal with this, you probably want to stay far, far away. >:D

(I have noticed a considerable preference against people with mental illness, even those who are being treated! If untreated, yes, I agree there is a problem, but I find the prejudice against even hard-working and very self-aware individuals like myself to be quite alarming.)

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
(A) you want an honest, trust-based, and no-bullshit relationship. (No bullshit!)
(B) you're looking for a friend (and friend only...) in your area (both sexes permitted, of course!).
(C) you want an accomplice for going out on adventures -- seeing more natural and cultural sights, becoming more active, etc.
(D) you enjoy hanging out and sharing deep thoughts, catching good film and TV, playing games, making food or art, working outside, playing with animals, etc.
