My self-summary
I am an easy going, transplanted New Yorker. I have lived in SC since 2002 for college (CCU) and Charleston for grad school (CofC). I am now working to save some money and am (hopefully!) going for my PhD in 2013.
Anywhoo, I consider myself very laid back and easy to get along with. I am an "out-doorsy" person who loves to do various outdoor activities. I love hiking, and I'm a nature buff who likes to observe, photograph, and collect stuff, so be prepared for a interesting hike. I am up for things like camping trips and bike rides, but I haven't had much time for that lately.
Socially, I like me a good house party or hanging out at a bar with friends, or I can just stay at home working on various hobbies or watching TV. Living in Charleston means the beach is a must in the summer. Nothing better than laying on the beach and listening to the IPod!
I am a marine biologist by education but I dabble in several different things. I am an aspiring scientific illustrator/artist, and I am working on getting my work into the Charleston market. Check out my fish drawings at www.watlfish.com. I also love to travel, and have been all over the United States and a few places outside the states. Kauai, HI is probably my favorite so far. Exploring new places is very exciting and I'm not a person who wants to go back to the same places every time.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working with what I got right now but I am focused on getting into a PhD program and getting my art career off the ground. I am always adding information to my website as a scientific and personal resource.
I’m really good at
ART. I have been an artist since I was a kid, where I taught myself how to draw. Now I work with pencil, colored pencil, and also pastel. I am trying my hand at digital media. Also just about any marine biology subject but also historical stuff.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: non-fiction
Movies: I guess most types of movies, except I'm not a fan of horror and gore.
TV: I love South Park and social satire, and documentary type stuff. I also watch sports, especially baseball and football. I do not enjoy pseudo-reality programming.
Food: Seafood and Italian are my favorites, but I also love some good old BBQ, mashed potatoes, my Mom's goulash, and chocolate cream pie.
Music: Rock, rap, R&B, alternative. Here's an idea of my music taste:
The Killers,Collective Soul, Jay-Z, Chris Brown, Beatles, Mobb Deep, Nappy Roots, Sublime, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Eminem, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Kayne West, Kid Cudi, Kings of Leon, Muse, etc. etc.
