My self-summary
"Live by the foma that make you brave and kind and healthy and happy." - Vonnegut

I'm a single guy livining in Portland for 4 years now. I'm loving it here and I'm feeling fairly contented as of late. But, it doesn't hurt to stick my head out there and look for another terrific friend or companion. So, here I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Working and dreaming...and dashing in some adventure when there's time. I've also been baking a lot recently; I'd like to get more into it and really learn the "breadth" of the field (pun intended).
I’m really good at
Being a smartass.
Being an encyclopedia of useless knowledge.
Being open and straight-forward with people.
Exploring and appreciating perspectives.
The first things people usually notice about me
Depends on the angle I'm being looked at from.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just too much substance here. I bet I'd tell you if you asked though.
The six things I could never do without
1. Resilience--That should help me get over the five other things I just left out.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Masculinity and femininity--how culture and society influence both paradigms and how people conform or resist to it.
How weird, terrifying, and inspiring humanity can be at times.
The scale and vastness of the universe.
The rate and future of technology.
The power and diversity of nature.
How rhizomatic the universe is.
How disconnected people can get from what really matters.
What drives people and wondering what it would be like to be them.
What's in store for me next--maybe a little excited and worried about it too.
Why my plants are dying when I'm giving them everything they need!

On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for a chill place to hang out with friends.
You should message me if
These are things that I hope we might have in common (not deal-breakers by any mean):

You want to put cheese on everything and drink beer/wine while doing it.
You want to talk about books with me.
You've got the gumption to occasionally take the lead.
You don't have to love camping but I'd hope you appreciate the outdoors and respect the impact it can have on people.
You are creative, have an open mind, and enjoy the exploration of new perspectives and are open to seeing what they have to offer.
You can make me laugh.
You aren't afraid to be a goofball and let your inner-child come out to play from time to time.
