I am silly, sweet, and short.

My Self-Summary

mmm, what to say? Probably summarizes me well! I like to laugh at myself, at life in general. Love the weird idiosyncracies in life. I am a people person, like to talk, learn, listen. Pretty much laid back in my personal life, like to wait and see what develops rather than plan for every detail. I find the small things in life more important than what alot of people think are big. Simple things like enjoying a sun rise or a sun set....hearing birds chirp outside the window, etc. Sitting in front of a fire--telling ghost stories or laughing. I find laughter is a great stress reliever. I like board games, and card games. A good philosphical discussion. And I like analyzing things and figuring them out, especially people, rofl.

I am a really honest person, and prefer people be the same with me. Its kind of hard to get to know someone if they don't tell the truth, not to mention ever trust them. Also I am just me, and I like who that is. I am looking for someone who can like that as well, without trying to change me into a carbon copy of them. Nothing in life says to people have to think exactly alike. As the matter of fact conversations might be boring if everyone did think alike.

In a few weeks I will be 46, and my eldest son is 20. I mention this because one thing that is not part of my self summary and is excluded in the what I am looking for is casual sex partners of any age. I am not looking for that, and therefore I am not looking for the 20 year somethings to look at a picture and IM me or send me an email asking if I like younger men. If your in my son's age bracket I'm going to regard you as a child. Friends are fine, but friends would not email that ridiculous statement.

Not to be ragging, but I guess we each experience whatever we all experience on here.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a high stress job that requires me to "do" to much, lol. When not at work I enjoy the time I have to myself in many and varied ways. A things to do list for your life sounds way to much like work to me. Life is short and fleeting. My plans are to enjoy it.

I’m really good at

I am really good at connecting the dots. Remember those pictures when you were 5 where they were numbered and you drew a picture? I connect them now without numbers, lol.

If I could only learn to color............

The first things people usually notice about me

Not sure why, but it seems to be my eyes. I have had every kind of comment imaginable about my eyes. To me they are just brown.

Or my Mona Lisa smile.

No, definitely my eyes!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like thrillers and am not into TV at all. I tend to fall asleep when watching TV.

Shows that I like (one has to watch some, everything in balance)

Minority Report, The Game, The Thomas Crowne Affaire, Three Days of the Condor (the book was better), FireFox, the Gauntlet, Miami Vice Series, Hill Street Blues, WKRP in Cincinatti, The Negotiator, The Mechanic, The Bone Collector (again the book was better), Tool Time, Witness, Indiana Jones, Die Hard, Mission Impossible, Flashdance, Pretty Woman, Witness for the Prosecution.

I follow specific authors, many people haven't heard of, but sane ones are Grisham, Cornwall, Iris Johansen, Dan Brown, Jeffrey Deaver, Richard NOrth Patterson, David Baldacci, Lisa Gardner, Scott Turrow, Stephen King, Michael Connelly, Robert Kellerman, Robin Cooke etc.........Movie and books I guess I like High Action Thrillers.

As far as music, don't follow a specific genre. I like what I like, and it is a great stress reliever. My grown son has taught me IPOD, and I have a chat room I go into to listen and play music. I like everything, except maybe rap and heavy metal, but am guilty of even having a few of those.

I am not a food focused person, prefer red meat (much to my doctor's disgust). I am not a picky eater, probably easier to say what I dislike, which is Chineese food. But they do one dish which is ok, and their is always the fortune cookies!

The six things I could never do without

Lets see, I can't do without, never is a wrong word, would rather not is better, just being picky.

1. Sunshine
2. Music
3. Real Conversation (not political platitudes)
4. My kids
5. My own personal space
6. My own sense of self worth

Fyi from 6 to 1 in order of importance, lol

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about lots of things. Some don't belong here, and some are mundane. I am human like everyone else. One problem with a dating service is they ask so many questions there is absolutely nothing left to talk about when you try and talk to someone. Think I will opt out for the best politically correct answer I can give in the situation (and I generally don't do politics). I listen, so I think about anything and everythings that is said; and if I am with the person--everything that is unsaid as in body language, and go from there. Mostly right now I am wondering why I am answering silly questions and making a resume about my personality. And I can't help drawing the conclusion that personality is largely undefinable anyway.

On a typical Friday night I am

I hate typical, and try never to have them. However if I am enjoying my own personal time I am one of several things, Playing music on line with friends, Playing a computer game on line with friends, curled up in the chair reading a good book, or ugh cleaning or paying bills. If I am out and about, I am liable to be doing anything thats going on. I am not so sure what you do is as important as the company you are with.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Not admitting anything private in public, lol

*SCOTT, FORESMAN ADVANCED DICTIONARY:

"Private (pri'vit), adj. 1. not for the public; for just a few special people or for one. 2. not public: individual;personal 3. secret; confidential 4. secluded 5. haveing no public office."

The operative words here are not public. Nice Try.

You should message me if

You feel like it? There are rules for this? lol

Another aspect of my personality is that I am perfectly capable of entertaining myself. Recently, I made a journal post that said I believed the vast majority of people on here did not read profiles, they simply looked at pictures (which makes OKCupid's demands of continually writing more in here a little off the hook--less is better, it might get read--to much is rambling...like this). So, I guess you should Email me if you actually read this silly paragraph. To prove my point, if you read this paragraph and Email me, please put in the email "IN RESPONSE TO YOUR PROFILE I READ IT". And yes, there is a method to my madness. I posted this newest bit of insanity all the way at the bottom of my profile, so you must be an avid reader (especially when OKC constantly demands I add more to my profile) to have gotten this far!!
