My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a newly retired teacher looking for a last great love. He should share similar education and values, levels of activity and intensity. Not looking for a player, I'm serious about wanting to find someone to spend this last part of my life. I enjoy live theatre, exercise, humor, conversations, and making the best of every situation. I'm at ease at home and out, dressed up or casual, and he should be as well. Love to meet a man who can keep me intellectually challenged and emotionally interested. And if you understand that, you should contact me. I look and act much younger than my age and hope that never changes. I have hopes of finding a similar man. I do believe that we can have it all, if we keep trying.

Sharing life's experiences with a soulmate can be the ultimate high. If you have experienced that, then you understand what I'm looking to find at this point in my life. I can throw some philosophy out there, but basically there has to be love, commonalities, as well as, chemistry. One without the other probably dooms the relationship to short term. I want long term. Do you?

PS I do love to run my fingers through hair and if you also like to do that.....yeah! I want to feel the chemistry again. Don't we all? I really do like a head of hair.

PPS My picture is out there and if yours is not, I probably will not answer. If you have nothing written in your profile, I probably will not answer. If the only thing you have written is "no preference", then you probably don't have a clear picture of what qualities are important to you, and I probably will not answer. Guys, don't you feel the same too? I really am serious about finding men with whom I am compatible so we can enjoy the same things with each other and explore new experiences.

ALSO IF YOU LIVE IN A DIFFERENT STATE OR FAR AWAY, WE DO NOT HAVE A CHANCE. PASS ME BY. LONG DISTANCE IS FOR A PEN-PAL. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A WRITING PARTNER.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just taking it day by day for now. I want to enjoy all the free time I now have for a while longer before I decide where the road will take me next. Volunteer? Teach again? I know I want a compatible partner to share my time with.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Enjoying everything I do. I appreciate every smile that is shared and realize that they are gifts we give to each other. Usually I'm pretty good at making people laugh and feel at ease. No pretense. I show the real me readily. I'm willing to learn a new skill. Maybe we can learn together or you can teach the teach?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The first things people notice about me is my smile and the twinkle in my eyes (after they get past the bright red head of hair). I am told that I actually look better in person than in the pictures. And I loved hearing that!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love just about everything by Stephen King. I happen to really like the genre of sci-fi, horror, and fantasy. It requires much imagination and the ability to suspend reality for a little while. I can do that, can you?I like Haven, Eureka, and Fringe for their sci-fi value. I love Mentalist, Castle, and the CSI's of Miami and Vegas as I try to solve the crimes before they do. I still love Grey's Anatomy for the their unique way of dragging you into their dramas. Big Bang Theory is fun. but it doesn't fit into one of the above categories. I love those nerdy, smart boys.
Food? Meat and potato kind of gal, with a real love of Italian. Would love to try some foods I have never had before, if you can recommend them.

Theatre is my first love always. I have been in numerous productions and would like to get into another one. I have directed my share as well. Whenever I can, I enjoy Chicago's great theatre world. Only New York beats us.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My daughter who is beautiful inside and out, and funny as well.
The sunlight warming my skin and making the world fresh again.
The ability to continue learning about the world.
The chance to teach others with whatever knowledge I have.
Friendship of others, new and old, and yet to come.
My love for the animals around us, and especially my own two.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Right now, what the future will bring. Do I go back to work or enjoy the freedom of retirement? What can I do to help my daughter on her chosen life's path? I don't spend a lot of time thinking about things I cannot change at all.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably getting ready to go out to a show or an evening with a friend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably that I really hope this works. I want to find my last long love and just live happily with him. I don't believe in 'Cinderella, but I do in true love.

Since I taught high schoolers for a long time, the guy who will interest me will have at least a college education. Otherwise, it would be like dating one of my students. I have zero interest in that. If you share common values and ideas then shoot me an email and we can both see what more lies beneath this profile page. If you are only responding to the picture, that's a little too superficial for me. Don't bother.
