My Self-Summary

Note to all....I have met someone very special. Right here on OKC! So, I won't be responding to emails...but thanks for stopping by.

I'm a down to earth Taurus, looking for someone to share life's simple pleasures with. I'm passionate about cooking, especially Pakistani/Indian food! Reading, word games of all kinds (I'm talkin' serious scrabble here...), movies,Red Sox, and hosting family get-togethers would be a starter list of interests. Music is a big part of my life; I love most kinds, (light on the rap and country, please!) and enjoy concert going. I have two great kids who are in college, and they do drop in when they have time. I enjoy fine dining, a glass of wine, and all the comforts of a beautiful living environment.
I have an interesting sense of humor, and to me, having a good laugh is one of life's necessities. I'm a homebody who likes to keep busy, and help out my family when needed. I practice Reiki for myself, friends and family on a regular basis, and love to do this small thing for them. I also like going to flea markets and yard sales...you never know what treasure you will find! It's a whole philosophy there... you have to sift through tons of soil to find a diamond...

I'm looking for a man who knows what he wants in life, is sincere and caring, and willing to work to keep the romance alive! Someone who enjoys doing what I like to do, but also has his own interests, and respects that in me. Quality time should be just that...

What I’m doing with my life

I've just returned to the US after a long time abroad; I'm starting over from scratch. I'm working on a certificate course at college to begin a new career, and looking for the perfect job in the meantime, like many other people in this economy! I miss my longtime friends, but am looking to meet new people here.

I’m really good at

cooking for large groups!

The first things people usually notice about me

My sense of humor and my eyes. At least that's what I've been told...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love to read. Crime, law, and detective novels, sweeping sagas (think: The Thornbirds, Far Pavilions) are among my favorites, but I also read classic literature and non-fiction. Robert B. Parker, Ken Follet, Patricia Cornwell and Amy Tan come to mind, and good autobiographies. I love to curl up and watch a good movie, or go to the theater. No horror movies, but I enjoy quirky comedies and gripping dramas alike. Last few I saw: Harry Potter, Julie and Julia...I love Hollywood musicals too! A few favorites are West Side Story, Rear Window, Young Frankenstein, Fever Pitch, 50 First Dates, Edward Scissorhands, 10 Things I Hate About You...the list could go on...
Music is an important part of my life. A small list of favorites would include Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Wonder, Alanis Morisette, Leo Kottke...good jazz, R&B and classical as well. I have quite a diverse collection on my iPod. I also enjoy my kids' music, and Incubus is one of my favorites. I took my daughter to see them at The Dubai Desert Rock Festival a few years ago!
I love company in the kitchen, and especially enjoy authentic Pakistani/Indian food.
Oh, and if you're a Yankees fan, please don't bother! (Hardcore Red Sox fan, here...)

The six things I could never do without

Books
Music
Intimacy
Time with my kids
Comfortable surroundings
A good laugh

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how to improve my life, and being grateful for all I have. I do believe in the power of positive thought, and actively working to make things happen.

On a typical Friday night I am

watching the Red Sox, reading a good book, or chatting with friends around the globe.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That I'm really 48, I don't know how it got to be 46 at the top!!

You should message me if

If you have a great sense of humor, value integrity, and are honest and caring... Chemistry is important, but so is getting to know someone. I am asking for a lot in a partner, and expect that they will too. I have a lot to give, and want the respect, kindness and admiration that I will give to the right person.
