This is my first go at trying out this whole online dating scene; more curious than anything.
I am a recovering alcoholic with over three years of continuous sobriety, and am therefore not interested in anyone who needs drink or drugs to be comfortable or have a good time. Due to this, certain avenues of meeting new people, such as bars and clubs and whatnot, are unavailable to me. I will, however, drink you under the table at a coffee shop.
I am passionate, compassionate, and empathetic. I am very laid back but not afraid to take command of a situation. I enjoy intelligent conversation and wordplay. I have a very strong, and very dry, sense of humor. I have occasional outbreaks of sudden silliness, tempered by (usually) good natured sarcasm.
While I enjoy dining out and going on little adventures, such as to the zoo lights or Big Room shows, I'm beginning to equally enjoy or even prefer to just dine in, cuddle on the couch and watch a movie or what-have-you.

I've just been working and focusing on my recovery for the last few years, but feel it's time to move ahead and perhaps get back to school.

On the tee-vee: Arrested D, Sunny, Liz Lemon show, Simpsons, Daily Show, Colbie, The Soup; I am a huge fan of Lost, for the past week i've been tearing the M.M: Wallander series (the Kenneth Branagh one). It is near perfect; beautiful and sad.
I love movies of almost every genre. Long time favorites include Children Of Men, Session 9, older Fincher and Burton, Gondry, and most things by the Coen brothers and Kubrick.

Seeing as how in the past I've lost everything, there's nothing I can't live without. However my life would be much less pleasant without my family, caffiene and nicotine, Spotify and Netflix, my car, my phone and a steady in'net connection.

Caffeine. The fact that humanity has evolved to the point where we have almost immediate access to nearly unlimited information, yet an overwhelming majority of people choose to not know the answers to questions and curiosities instead of just Googling it on their phone. Kittens. And cats. I really like cats.

Working until 2am, actually; then relaxing in my new apt or seeing who's still up and about depending upon my mood.

Despite having attended photography school (I am a real life art school dropout), I took some very tacky 'bathroom mirror shots' with my cell phone and posted them to a dating website.
