My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm going to admit this upfront. I'm a geek.

Requisite dorky glasses and proud of it? Check.
Loves going to conventions? Double Check.
Strange obsession to dress in anachronistic costume? Check Mate!

I'm an ex-programmer turned game designer and have drifted in and out of art, music and fashion school. I've always been creative in one form or another.

I like games and have a particular soft spot for board games and the occasional light miniatures game. If you're busting out the tape measure, you're probably too hard-core for me. Oh, and if you happen to know what Dreamblade is, you just rolled a natural 20! :)

I'm very easy going--for most things, but there are some things I just will not compromise. I value honesty, genuine friendship and am extremely loyal to those who have earned my trust. I also value my space and most definitely need my alone time.

I generally enjoy being active but can also laze around. I like to run, hike and kayak.

My activity level fluctuates a lot depending on how busy I am. It ranges from moderately intense to sedentary depending on the season. I ran the SF half marathon a couple years ago and seriously contemplated a tri, but I'm really, really bad at riding a bike.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
When I'm not designing games, I'm either building puppets, teaching piano, writing music or I'm tinkering on a vintage sewing machine. I'm always taking classes to keep myself sharp.

Otherwise, I'm binge watching Walking Dead at a friends house or playing board games.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making silly noises. My friends think I sound like a baby dinosaur. You be the judge.

Music has always been a big part of my life. There's always some melodic material running in my head 24/7 and it often keeps me up at night.

I'm a decent pianist and I've been teaching part-time on and off since high school. I play a ton of instruments: violin, clarinet, ukulele, marimba etc...

I love to doodle and sew.
The first things people usually notice about me

I gravitate toward character pieces and strong narratives over action flicks. I'll pretty much watch anything but prefer sci-fi, fantasy and period settings.

My relationship with music is first and foremost melodically and harmonically driven. Plus I'm not a fan of the timbre of modern voice.

I like oldies, jazz, show tunes and classical stuff. Cole Porter, Edith Piaf, Sondheim, Rachmaninov. Pop is okay. Hip hop, not so much.

I'm not picky when it comes to food made with quality ingredients--I mostly eat organic and local and tend to avoid fast food like the plague. This isn't to say I won't indulge on the occasional hot dog at the theatre. But that is a treat and definitely not the norm.

I love pastas, Japanese curries, and tofu. I cook but I don't make a big production out of it.

TV Shows:
Firefly, Battlestar, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Spartacus, Criminal Minds, Dexter, Doctor Who, Borgias, House of Cards, Hit & Miss, Sense8, Legends.

I love sequential art. Especially experimental stuff. Kabuki by David Mack is one of my all time favorites. Lately, I've been hooked on a series called Saga.

Video Games:
Card Hunter, FTL, Kingdom Rush, Left 4 Dead, Super Stardust HD, D&D: Shadow over Mystara, Bubble Bobble, Ghouls ’n Ghosts, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Beyond Good and Evil, FF Tactics, FF VII, Diablo 2, Starcraft, Herzog Zwei, Phantasy Star, Wipeout XL, F-Zero, Mario Kart, Fallout 2, Puyo Puyo, Jagged Alliance, X-Com... the list goes on.

Board Games:
I have a large board game collection. Gaming is primarily a social experience for me. I much prefer lighter and quicker games over long and complicated big box games. Some of my favorites include: Carcasonne, Nightfall, Claustrophobia, 7 Wonders, San Juan, Ascension, Bang!, Blue Moon City, Survive, and Heroscape.

Update - I recently discovered X-wing by FFG and I'm hooked!
The six things I could never do without

1) Music!!!!
2) Games!!
3) Food!!!
4) Laughter!!!
5) Visual and Performing Arts
6) Costuming (Renaissance Faires, Dickens Fair, Steampunk)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next project, drafting patterns, what-if scenarios and what's for lunch.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Unfortunately, I'm at work till pretty late. It's the only way I'm able to squeeze in classes during the week. That being said, meeting people is important to me and I make time for important things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Umm... my garage looks like a third world sweat shop, my living room looks like um... an orchestra pit and my family room looks like your local FLGS...
