After my last few interactions on this site, I'm about two minutes from joining Farmers Only. Please dont let that happen.
I have come to realize that Life's Rich Pageant is always more fun if shared with someone special. I love to cook although, like most guys, my best dishes are made over an open flame. I'm a fan of both sports and the theater and think nothing of just taking off for New York City, Chicago or Toronto for the weekend to see a couple of shows. Do the same thing for concerts as well. If you're a movie buff, that's a big plus..
I would love to find someone who could inspire me to write a song like this about them:
What I’m doing with my life
I recently sold my business after 15 years and am currently doing part time consulting work as well as just opening the coolest business ever in Pittsburgh (or anywhere, for that matter). I also spend time doing volunteer work with the Animal Rescue League and the Toonseum(Yes, we have a museum here in Pittsburgh dedicated to cartoons). Life moves pretty fast, and if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you just might miss it.
I’m really good at
I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed several covert operations with the CIA. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies - Too many to list. Almost anything from the AFI top 100 to The Hangover, Inception, The Dark Knight, Black Swan, to low budget indies and foreign films. Books - I love reading books about musicians that I loved. Also anything by David Sedaris, Rick Reilly, Neil Gaiman, Michael Chabon. Music - I love all things 80's Alternative, and for current stuff, I like The Killers, Mumford and Sons, Grouplove, Vampire Weekend, Young The Giant and the Airborne Toxic Event.
As for food, yes, I like it.
TV - Currently enjoying this season of Walking Dead, Orphan Black and Game of Thrones and I miss Madmen already Shows I DVR to watch on the elliptical include The Flash, Arrow, Gotham and Big Bang Theory. Thought the three episode Sherlock Holmes on PBS was one of the best written shows in years and hopefully it won't be two years until it returns
The six things I could never do without
Numbers 1 and 2 are my dogs - A Tibetan Spaniel-Ferris - Her brother Bueller passed away a couple of years ago and Golden Retriever(Newman), Satellite Radio, Time spent volunteering, and Travel
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why so many of the women on this site list Friends as one of the six things they could never do without yet their profile pictures are all selfies taken in bathroom mirrors or in their cars. Couldn't one of these imaginary friends have taken a picture of you?
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging with friends, going to the movies or staying in with a DVD, some good take out and a bottle of wine, but fortunately, there is no such thing as a typical Friday night with me.
You should message me if
Any of these ideas for a first date sound like fun to you: Miniature golf followed by ice cream, a night of bowling and adult beverages, Filling up a picnic basket and heading to the drive-in, some tapas and a pitcher of Sangria, a stroll through the Warhol or Mattress Factory, Spending an afternoon exploring the Allegheny River Libation Trail, A bike ride along the North Shore Trail. Pittsburgh has so many great things to do that the possibilities are endless. As much as I love movies, they do not really make a great first date due to that whole no talking thing. Come on people, stop being boring
You are looking to meet a truly nice guy, You think you can hang with my sarcastic wit, You can keep up, say what you mean and mean what you say, and have a hard time deciding whether to order red or white with your tacos.
Trust me, I'm the guy you always complain that you can never seem to find. I'm like a combination Lloyd Dobbler/Rob Gordon, and if you know what that means, then we'd get along great. If you don't, then we probably wouldn't
