My self-summary Propose an edit

My name is Heather. I'm 19 years old and I'm currently entering my sophomore year of college. I live in Pittsburgh and I'm studying French. I like to write and draw.

I don't know exactly what I should say about myself, so I guess a rant about myself is a good enough response. I love taking pictures. Of anything, really. I have a real love for colors and shapes, and anything that strikes me as interesting gets caught in my camera's lens. I tend to come off as really quiet at first, but only because I'm very shy. Once someone gets to know me I really open up quickly. I'm usually a very positive person and I love telling stories and listening to the stories of others, especially because I write novels in my spare time and I like to expand my knowledge of others' experiences, not just my own. I hate that I've never gone fishing or to a wedding, and other things that I think would be interesting to experience.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm currently on my summer vacation and working for a temp agency with PNC Bank until the end of July. After that I'm taking August off to relax and working on my art and doing some photo shoots.

I'm in college with a major in French Education. It's pretty tough work, I have to admit. But I'm passionate about becoming a teacher because I want to be as great a person as my high school French teacher was. She's my idol, pretty much. I also have a part-time job at Arby's for some spending money at college, and so I can get birthday presents for my friends and the like. I don't really like it there but it works for me.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I've been told I'm a really good artist. I like doing realism and "anime-style" artwork especially, but recently it's been mostly realism. I like to create things that are interesting and hang them up in my dorm room. I'm also pretty good at writing, and I've finished writing two stories before, but didn't bother thinking about anything like publishing. I write for fun, and that's all. I really like singing too and I've been told I'm pretty good at it. :]

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

I have no idea what people notice about me at all. Probably my smile, since I've been told I either have a nice smile or that I smile too much haha. I am probably the only person who works in fast food that will honestly smile at the customers. I've been nicknamed "Smily" twice too. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

I adore reading. The list could go on and on. My favorite titles are A Separate Peace and The Loch but I'm also really fond of The Picture of Dorian Gray. I've also been known to read random things like my dad's plant guides and - of course - the dictionary (in French OR English). I like to write my own stories rather than read, though.

As for movies, I like action films. I'm not too into chick flicks at all - put on Indiana Jones and I'll be more than happy. I also like the science-fiction movies of the 80s like Aliens, Predator, and Terminator. Naturally I love Aliens Vs. Predator then. I also love Twister because it's a classic. Every once in a while I'll watch a horror flick too, usually an Asian movie with subtitles. Very recently I've been obsessed with Asian horror films. My favorites are Shutter, Alone, The Eye, and Apartment.

I listen to almost every type of music imaginable, My music collection is mostly in English and Japanese, but I also listen to some French, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean. Anything that sounds good to me, regardless of language, is worth listening to in my opinion. :]

I really like Italian foods like spaghetti. I'm part Polish and I -adore- pirogies. :] Mostly I eat salads though, because I like trying to stay healthy.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

I think a lot about the world. Anything that comes to mind. Sometimes I just like to look at colors and think about them. I also think a lot about - and in - French. I've gotten to the point where I listen to music in English and the lyrics are being partially translated into French in my head.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Right now my Friday nights are spent drawing or on the phone. No real fun for me~ boo. Haha. I like to stay up late because I get the most inspiration to write and draw at night.

During college I'm usually spending some time with my college friends but if not then I'm trying to catch up on my sleep! I don't get a lot of sleep because I can't stop myself from thinking up new things to draw or to write about and I just have to get the ideas out of my head and onto paper (or the computer) before I forget about it.
