I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar, trying to play drums, playing Xbox 360, reading (more fiction than non-), playing pool, seeing a movie in a theater with friends, going to concerts, smoking, taking road trips.

I have a sardonic sense of humor and sometimes I can't stop laughing at things.

I am quirky, mostly hydrogen, and mildly absorbent.

I work as a QA software & game tester when I can and in my spare time I write tech & software reviews and edit news & articles.

I play guitar & bass with other bands on a session basis and write and record my own music when the inspiration hits. I play all instruments on my songs, including guitar, bass and drums.

When I'm not making my own metal racket, I sometimes also create industrial-type electronic music with my computer and a keyboard.

Books - I enjoy Tolkien and Frank Herbert specifically, as well as most fantasy and sci-fi novels, and some philosophy, some world religions, histories and mythologies. George R. R. Martin's work is pretty great, and I enjoyed all the Harry Potter books. Twilight sucks and if you like it I hate you. The Hunger Games was a quick but good read.

Movies - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , Conan the Barbarian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, 300, Pi, Mulholland Drive, Clash of the Titans, Caligula, Watchmen, A Clockwork Orange, and Aliens are all favourites. Also zombie movies are awesome. The "___ of the Dead"s, 28 time units later, good stuff. Army of Darkness. The Princess Bride and Heavy Metal were also awesome. Tank Girl. Oh yeah and Barb Wire and The Fifth Element.

Shows - Game of Thrones is great!

Music - favourite genres are black metal and death metal, but I also enjoy many other forms of metal music as well as electronic & industrial music, some experimental and ambient/soundscape types, some world music, and some jazz fusion.

Food - I enjoy a lot of different things and am usually open to trying something new. Tacos rule.

Music, spirituality, video games, trying to make philosophy practical, and often vaguely sociological themes like trends I notice in my life. I'm not into philosophy or sociology much anymore, I just still have a lot of that noise in my mind brain.

When it is nighttime, I often think about the little astronomy I understand and some of the theories I have read, about things like our galaxy, black holes, pulsars. It is hard for me to look out at the Milky Way and not think of the proposed vastness 'out there' and our tiny place in it. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

I can thankfully say I don't have a "typical" Friday night :D

Ideally I would be playing pool with friends and/or strangers, or at a metal show.

I seriously can't think of anything worth sharing that isn't horrific... uh, I guess just that I play too many video games when I don't have more pressing matters to attend to.
