My self-summary
I'm Olly.
I write poetry and pretend to play guitar. Sometimes sounds come out that aren't shrieking monstrosities. That is how I define a good day.
What I’m doing with my life
This got heavy quick.
I'm mostly attempting to pursue life with a 'be here now' mentality, and trying to not let the neuroticism of worrying about far off matters drive me loony.
Other than that I am bumbling through my uni course and will see what happens.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I think my favourite reads so far have been Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance by Robert Prisig, and Asterios Polyp by David Mazzuchelli.
Other authors that hit a soft spot for me are David Foster Wallace, Edgar Allan Poe, Sylvia Plath, Aldous Huxley, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Haruki Murakami, Jorge Louis Borges, and a bunch of dead philosophers.

Movies - Momento, Brazil, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Man on the Moon, Being John Malkovich, Fight Club, Bad Boy Bubby, Rear Window, Magnolia, Moon, A Scanner Darkly, The Star Wars series, Studio Ghibli stuff, Space Jam, Japanese Godzilla films.

Shows - Twin Peaks, Community, Game of Thrones, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Peep Show, Fawlty Towers, It's Always Sunny and a few animes.

I'm pretty breezy with music but as I have been doing lists, here is another;
Leonard Cohen, Fela Kuti, Ray Lamontagne, Mason Jennings, Tim Maia, Jeffrey Lewis, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Books, José Gonsález, Elvis Perkins, The Band, Patrick Watson, Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, Adam Green, Devendra Banhart, Melody Gardot, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Robert Johnson, The Smiths, The Shins, Ella Fitzgerald, Velvet Underground, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Seatbelts.

I have also been told that I make more Nachos than any man.

What a charmer.
The six things I could never do without
A sweet tune in mind.
An interesting thought.
Engaging material.
A deep breath.
The genius of broad explanations.
Regular Dungeons and Dragons sittings.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ideas that I jot on my phone/notebook/bar serviettes/toilet paper incessantly.
On a typical Friday night I am
Generally with some buddies having a drink.

I have reread that a few times. It sounds hilariously out of character, buuut so it shall stay.
You should message me if
While answering questions it has occurred to me that I find majority of the questions irrelevant, due to being entirely open to justifications for them.
Not to make life all about justifications, but if you'd like to have a chat about anything, I generally find that 'anything' is a pretty cruisy subject.
