My self-summary
I studied Philosophy at UCSC, and it has contributed greatly to the person I am today. I strongly feel that a person's intelligence is based on the questions they ask rather than the things they know. I love being outside, climbing, music, meeting new people, porch sitting, thinking about things deeply, and I have the greatest dog in all the land. She really is the best; anyone is free to challenge that claim. I have a passion for learning new things and think it's exciting to challenge myself. Some of the new things I've been exploring lately:

-Gardening
-Traveling further from home
-Mixing/Mastering my own music (anyone out there love Ableton Live as much as I do?)
-Brewing beer
-Hosting a board game night
-Taking cooking to the next level
What I’m doing with my life
I help run a local Non-Profit that teaches chess to kids after school, and when I'm not teaching K - 6th graders at work, I'm probably rock climbing. At home I'm usually making music or just hanging out with my dog. I like going out to eat, although I've been staying in much more often lately. I love cooking... Can I type that one more time just to make sure I'm being clear? I LOVE COOKING!
I’m really good at
-Listening
-Solving problems/puzzles/games (I love games of all sorts)
-Running a Business
-making myself laugh
-Traveling
-rationalizing why I don't need to become a KQED member even though I listen to NPR like my dial was broken.
-Making you dance
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: My favorite book has to be Prometheus Rising by Robert A. Wilson. Authors I like tend to be philosophers or people who write about philosophers. Pierre Hadot anyone? I also love Beneath the Underdog, Charles Mingus's pseudo-autobiography. I'm also ready a couple cooking books right now. I just picked up On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee. Awesome book!

Movies: I'm a very picky movie watcher, although I never walk out on a film. At the very least, I feel I should to be able to explain thoroughly why I thought it was trash. Some films I love: The Way of the Gun, Supper Troopers, No Country for Old Men (and other Coen films), Wim Wenders films are also some of my favorites. I'm a sucker for B&W with Hitchcock and Fritz Lang leading the parade. M is one of my favorite films of all time.

TV: The Wire, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Deadwood, It's Always Sunny, Band of Brothers, Treme, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I don't pay for TV service, but I make the effort to see high quality HBO/Showtime/AMC shows via the wonders of the internet.

Music: Jazz (a lot of Jazz!) Favorite Jazz artists include: Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Oscar Peterson, Hip Hop, Electronic, and anything new and unusual. Right now my music project surrounds a 1960's lounge meets spaghetti western theme.

My next trip: Bouldering trip to the Virgin Gorda Baths! If you haven't heard of this place, I'd encourage you to Google it.
On a typical Friday night I am
I think "On a typical Friday night I am..." is lame. I'd rather share what I'm looking for in a partner.

A woman who:

Is emotionally intelligent
asks questions
thinks she's sexy
likes adventure
is creative
loves dogs
values her health and thinks exercise is fun
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a terrible speller. I have a fine harness on the English language, yes... but I can't seem to remember stupid vowel rules to save my life.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–36
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You'd like to get a drink somewhere. Emails are nice, but it's all about the chemistry, so I'd prefer we just meet. Or, you climb/would like to try climbing.
