My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Ok, let's start with the basic things you should know about me (just so I don't waste anyone's time making them read through everything to find out I'm not for them, haha.) Anyways, I play drums, am employed (as I am becoming more and more convinced as I get older that the only good jobs are the ones involving self employment!), love rock/metal music, am a huge video game/movie/cartoon/sci fi nerd when not rocking people's faces, and definitely know how to be the life of the party, whatever said party is.

I thrive on social situations, and always try to see the best in people while accepting their imperfections. I'm a very progressive thinker, meaning I always try to keep one foot forward in life instead of wallowing in the past. Nobody likes someone who dwells on the spilled milk of their life, especially if it's something from years ago. I mean... that just cannot smell good at all.

I also see myself as intelligent, funny, and dashingly good looking.... feel free to let me know if you agree :P (let me say it like this, I don't think I'm super model hot (YET,) but I don't think I have anything to be embarrassed about in my appearance either.... LADIES B-) )

Alright, if you've made it through all that junk I've typed and still want to know more... you're in luck!! I've got a whole profile still to read! Have fun!

If not, feel free to turn away. Otherwise... courage.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Okayyyyyyy, I can see that this needs updated. So I'm no longer working at the last place I listed here, if you've seen this before and remember. As I will not name names, I found that place to be scam-ish, and took the first opportunity I could to get the fO:! outta there. Now I'm working some boring customer service gig, but eh, it pays the bills and supports me while I try to build up what I REALLY want to do, which is.....

I'm a drummer. Not just the kind that picked up a cheap kit and decided they could make it big with their friends in a high school garage rock band, ohhhhh no. I've taken professional lessons for several years, have been playing for 16 years now, and am now actually giving drum lessons, which I hope to convert to being my primary source of income over the next 2-5 years. On top of that, I play in 2 bands that keep very busy, so downtime is something that's pretty rare to me.

All of this may sound like a lot going on, but as I said in the "my summary" section, I believe in always moving forward with no regrets. I'd much rather bite off more than I can chew and figure out a way to make it work than sell myself short and wonder if I could have been more successful by pushing harder at life. Let me know if you have the same outlook!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
BEING AWESOME, ballin' 24/7 yo
(fyi, if you don't appreciate the above statement I can tell you right now it's not gonna work)

First and foremost, I'm good at playing music. It might sound cocky to say, but I play multiple instruments, and have been playing drums for 16 years. And while it may have not brought me fame and fortune yet, it has taken me half way across the country 2 times now, and at this point I'm turning down projects because I've got a full plate. Here's to what may come of the future!

My creativity isn't confined solely to music though. I draw and I paint (though to be honest I haven't done any paintings in several years, they can be pretty time consuming!) I've been told I'm really good at doing voice impersonations, Math (nerdy but true), taking things apart and putting them back together, whatever they may be, and quite simply,

Last but not least I would say that I'm pretty good at talking to people, whether on a professional or personal level. From what I've learned with my bands, I can say that if you want to be successful at anything you've got to learn how to make friends and maintain those friendships, because you never know when someone will come to a position in their life where they can then really help you out with yours.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My striking, Viking like stature/appearance (which is ironic because I've no Nordic descendants from the past 300 years of my family I think....) Seriously though, my hair, height, and blue eyes are what most people have told me they've first noticed before.

In terms of personality, what I've been hearing as of late is that I'm apparently an extremely nice, decent human being and easy to talk to, to which I have no complaints!

Because I've noticed this a lot with myself, I feel the need to point it out. I can definitely shut up when needed, but if you get me started, especially on something I know a lot about, I can talk. Like... a lot. I like discussing things in depth, because I feel like there's so much information that could be missed if all avenues and routes a conversation could take aren't explored. The fact that this paragraph has gone on as long as it has is a prime example!

Honestly you should skip this section and come back to it if you're pressed for time. You heard what I just said about my talking problem. It's all over the place and I've found no decent way of trimming it down, despite several attempts. That being said, if you've got time, read on! (Can't say I didn't warn you)

- Movies, I like just about anything, as long as it's quality, or if it's bad, at least so bad it's hilarious. I go from Star Wars to Paranormal Activity to Anchorman to What Dreams May Come and everything in between. Not super huge on Romantic type movies, however, I watched it once and will admit I liked the Notebook... SHUT UP. I've also never watched Twilight, and based on expert testimony of other friends of mine that mistakenly did, never intend to

- Music:

If you don't say METALLICA'S the best band ever I WILL FIGHT YOU

Seriously though, they annoy the Hell out of me, I just couldn't resist the joke

My tastes are actually all over the place. I'm more of a hard rock/metal person, but I can go from that to techno to classic rock to rap/hip hop and even classical. I'll name some examples of things in regular rotation for me, and you can determine whether you'd think we'd match up on some of this stuff or not:

System of a Down
Serj Tankien
Linkin Park
Bad Religion
August Burns Red
Devil Wears Prada
Snoop Dogg (Lion)
Shostakovich (10th Symphony 2nd movement to be specific)
Jimmy Hendrix
A Perfect Circle
The Misfits
White/Rob Zombie
Pink Floyd
Drop Kick Murphys
The Lonely Island
The Human Abstract
Led Zeppelin
Frank Zappa
Black Sabbath
(you get the idea, ton of stuff here, strike up a conversation for more!)

- TV Shows: I have a lot of standard stuff, and a lot of out there stuff involved here. Things I watch that you may have heard of: Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, Squidbillies, The Simpsons (older at least,) Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Weeds, The X-Files, Supernatural, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Lengend of Korra, Adventure Time, and The Regular Show. I'm also a little bit of an anime nerd, and enjoy the series of Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, and Soul Eater to name a few (partially because I don't remember the names of several others that I've seen, haha.)

- Books: Pretty much hard core sci-fi/fantasy (Star Wars, Harry Potter, and LotR FTW) or anything else I find interesting. Again, kind of all over the place

- Food: I like my food like my movies, not too picky as long as it's good. Chinese and Sushi are two notable favorites. I'll also add as of 10/28/2014 that I've been getting back into eating better. Grilled chicken salads with dark greens but with some good cheese and ranch dressing might seem like an oxymoron, but just.... damn does it manage to be good AND make me feel good about myself at the same time haha. It totally works. Don't judge.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Normal basic necessities for human survival aside, I'd be pretty boned if I didn't have the following:

-My friends/family/professional and social network I've spent years building
-My cat... seriously, he's awesome!!
-Smart phone (seriously, it sounds lame, but once you go you can't go back)
-My dreams, goals, and aspirations; something to work towards, a reason for persevering everyday
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Honestly, how I can either get a band famous, avoid dealing with the government in any way, shape, or form (the older I've gotten the more I've found that whole lot to be more insufferable bastards,) or ways I can escape the 9-5 grind and open up my own business (though for what I have no idea yet)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Preventing forest fires

Quite frankly anything can happen, typical is non-existent. Could be at the movies, could be road tripping, could be at a convention type event, could be bar hopping, could be playing some sort of musical thing, you get the idea. At the time of writing this I was actually out playing midnight ultimate frisbee with some people I never met (just fyi I sucked, as I've not played it in like 4 years, but who cares)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still listen to Limp Bizkit on occassion... I know it's a problem, but.... I've accepted it, and I don't want to change.

I quite honestly write, rewrite, and/or update this profile simply for my own amusement at this point I'm pretty sure. It's not failed me yet!

Honestly though, I'd say that I have a problem giving bad news when I need to. I just hate to be the one that spoils someone's good time.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you're someone who's funny but knows how to be an adult when they need to be, but when they're being funny isn't afraid to go ALL OUT. If you're wanting to talk to a guy who knows how to keep these both in balance and actually legitimately keep his s!!t together, you should message. Hell, if you read all this and just think I'd be someone who's fun to party with, you should message me!

Revised statement: If you don't consider yourself normal, if you're quirky, a little left of center, a break from ordinary, whatever you wanna call it, hit me up, because normal people can get boring.

Also, if anyone messages me and I don't respond immediately, it's possible I got really busy that week, or am trying to find the EXACT right thing to send you in a response, or whatever myriad of reasons that come up for a message getting held up. It happens, I just figured I'd put it out there.

Lastly... if you've managed to read down to this point, kudos to you!! I appreciate you taking the time to find out more about this curious person known as myself. I hope if nothing else I made your time killed on the internet a bit more enjoyable than had you not read this :D
