I am easy-going, sardonic, and nerdy.

My Self-Summary

Whenever I get the chance I'll try and find a picture of me that isn't just a crappy webcam head-shot.

I like to think I'm a free and fun loving guy. I don't have much patience for mixed messages and tend to say what's on my mind. Not that I'm callous by any means, I just try and be myself as much as possible =P

I love traveling to many different countries. So far I've only been to Japan and India, but I'd love to go to South America, Ireland, and New Zealand. I absolutely love experiencing a culture shock. I tend to travel less for the tourist attractions and more for the actual lifestyle and culture of each country. I've been talking it over with some Eurofriends and I definitely want to go to England next and stay there for a month or three. I'm more apt to go somewhere when I know someone who lives there. Hostels are fun but I much prefer staying with someone I know.

While generally pessimistic and cynical, the older I get the more I try to search for a silver lining. My friends label me as humorous and sarcastic. I like to make people smile and laugh; it makes me feel more comfortable around people, especially if I don't know them very well.

My motto in life is "Live and let live." I have no problem with people's beliefs or lifestyles, and only hope that they respect mine. I try and be as open-minded as possible and like someone for their personality and who they are, and less on what they believe. I'm very interested in politics and religion but really have no interest in actually debating whether or not my beliefs are correct/better than yours. I'm all for bouncing ideas and philosophies off of people, however. I'm always on the search for a better grasp on life.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm taking a bit of time off of school. However I'm going back to Luther next Spring and continuing my BA in Computer Science. Originally I had gone in with the idea of majoring in Music Education and though I'd love to do it, it's just not as feasible with all of the music programs being pulled from schools nowadays. I'd rather not go jobless for any length of time as sad as it sounds =\

Honestly, I'd love it if I could find 'Mr. Right' although I don't know how much luck I'll get here. I've been trying to be more active in extra-curricular clubs out in Madison, but so far no luck.

I’m really good at

My friends tell me I'm a good listener. Honestly I'm more than willing to listen to a friend in need and comfort them as much as I can.

If I can find a common interest or two, I'd like to think I'm pretty good at maintaining a good conversation (as long as the other person is, too!)

The first things people usually notice about me

Some people have said my eyes, so I guess that. I try and be as comfortable as possible when I meet someone new. My laid back personality, as well.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My tastes in books, movies, and music vary greatly.

Most of the time I don't read anything that makes me think too critically (not saying I'm only into 'fluff' or whatnot. Sometimes it's nice to take a break and just enjoy a good story).

That being said Piers Anthony and Stephen King are my favourite authors when it comes to a good story to sit back and read (The Dark Tower series is one of my favourite series from Stephen King). When I'm in the mood to work through something, I'll read anything from the Qur'an to The Myth of Sisyphus.

Oh, and I can't forget "The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead" by Max Brooks. It's inevitable and I don't want to be brain-chow *loads up shotgun*.

Others are Paradise Lost, Gravity's Rainbow, and Naked Lunch.

As for movies, I have about 100 DVDs ranging anywhere from Office Space to Requiem for a Dream. I'm up for anything. I love action, drama, family, comedy, romance, etc. etc. Recently watched movies have been: Rolemodels, Shaun of the Dead, Slumdog Millionaire, and Rang De Basanti.

I listen to most any type of music. Korn, Static-X, and Kittie if I want nu-metal and thrash. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix if I want to listen to the classics. Talking Heads, INXS, and Ultravox if I- fuck I could do this all day honestly. You get the point. Hell I've been listening to Infected Mushroom and Lady GaGa today. I'm not picky in the slightest.

The six things I could never do without

1.) My Computer
2.) My friends
3.) My family
4.) My iPod
5.) My Piano (I think I'd die if I couldn't play anymore)
6.) My ability to come up with 6 things I could never do without
7.) Apparently I can't count.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I do tend to worry about the future for several different reasons. It's bad, I know. I try not to but what can you do about it?

On a typical Friday night I am

It varies depending on how I'm feeling. Sometimes I'm with my friends playing poker and partying. Other times I'm at home on the computer.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I used to doodle calculus equations when I was bored in other classes.

You should message me if

Just message me.

I'm *not* looking for NSA or a quick one-night stand. Whether you want to make a friend, or see if we really connect, message me. =)
