My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Writer, editor, non-asshole (hopefully?) Comic Book Guy, musician, lover of puns, pretty chill bro (minus the bro part). Some things I like a lot are comedy, philosophy, rock & roll, and my dog.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For dollars: write/edit freelance, manage a comic book & gaming store

For funsies: play rock & roll, write some pop academic nonsense, do comedy (specifically host a storytelling/variety show and write sketches for a local group), lots of other stuff!

I travel a lot... once a month, on average. Usually it's for work, sometimes it's for fun (but, I mean, the work trips are fun too). I have a lot of adventures, which is I thing I'm really lucky to say. But maybe the next adventure... is inside the heart. <--- #greatline
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I think my eye for grammar is actually pretty sharp (IF YOU FIND AN ERROR IN THIS PROFILE LET ME KNOW OKAY). I'm also adept at wordplay and puns, though some people claim to hate it (I'm pretty sure they're lying).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my hair. Lots of people have asked if they can braid it (the answer is "no" like 99.9% of the time).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
(Sorry this is long; you can skip it if you want).

Books: I read a lot of comic books and a lot of nonfiction. My favorite author in any medium is Grant Morrison - Animal Man #26 never doesn't blow my mind; All-Star Superman #10 is basically my religion. I also really love Chuck Klosterman; It's possible I'm sexually attracted to his brain (I guess the term for this is "sapiosexual"). (edit: I think sometimes people look at my profile just because it says "sapiosexual." Guys. I'm not really sapiosexual. No offense to any actual sapiosexuals out there.)

Movies: You would seriously be amazed - and possibly get angry - at the movies I haven't seen. In a pinch, though, I'd probably say my favorite is TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE. ("Favorite" doesn't mean I think it's the best movie ever... I just like it a ton). I also like things that people with taste like, I promise!

Shows: Here's what I try to keep current on - Community, Parks & Rec, SNL, South Park, Kroll Show, Brooklyn 99, Inside Amy Schumer, The League, Portlandia, Childrens Hospital, NTSF:SD:SUV::, Comedy Bang! Bang! (I love the podcast too). And, okay, Girl Meets World. BMW was a big part of my younger days, and... hey, I don't have to explain myself to you!

Music: Springsteen is my spirit animal. In general I'm a rock guy, from classic to indie to hair metal (yeah, I know). Some particular acts I like a lot are the New Pornographers, Neko Case, They Might Be Giants, Rilo Kiley/Jenny Lewis, and Okkervil River. Lately I've been rocking a lot of the Replacements and Manic Street Preachers.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I think I COULD do without a lot, though I certainly wouldn't want to. Here are some kind of unspecific answers:

-Something to write with.
-Something to write on.
-Something I can use to perform music (preferably guitar-shaped).
-Something I can use to play already-recorded music that I own.
-Friends.
-Friends... on blu ray. (This is a really killer joke, guys!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Dumb jokes like that Friends thing you just read, what I should do with my next day off, the yin/yang relationship between Superman and Batman (it's deep!).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Fridays are my Thursdays, so probably nothing too terribly exciting, but that's up for discussion.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I play Magic: The Gathering. And I'm not also a billionaire hedge fund manager to balance that out. :( :( :( If you go out with me, promise you won't write an article on Gizmodo about it? (Google 'Jon Finkel OK Cupid' for a weird thing).

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
1) Anything in the above profile has piqued your interest (especially if you want to talk about Springsteen, Grant Morrison, or Chuck Klosterman).

2) You want to (best reason to do anything).

3) Or, seriously, if you found a grammar error in here. I want to know.

For the longest time I didn't put anything in this section about what I'm looking for - it just feels so judge-y - but that seems to be the standard, so here ya go. Ideally you are relatively confident, relatively happy, and are super into something(s). I don't care what your interests are, I just hope that you have them so I can learn about them and we can nerd out together. Sense of humor is also really important; I want to be able to riff with someone and cast off not-super-funny asides just to get a cheap laugh, and I hope you're up for doing the same. Other than that, there aren't really any "must-haves" in a partner - just be cool and happy and we'll probably get along!
